ANNOUNCEMENT DEATH MATCH 3000 this Sunday

Heh i've been imperial since I first fought an imp courier in Fe2 on the amiga though i prefered th 4mw Beam on mine Come second round beta i'll have a rig fuelled by a hex core i7 and 2 Geforce 770's with full occulus rift setup ..Hopefully... need abut 6 weeks to build it with work...

Nice :cool::D

yeah it would look that way, feel kinda sorry for the poor Fed maybe we should put him out of his misery :D

Only way to put me out of my misery is if you all kill yourselves - or allow me to do it for you, or Achenar´s sun goes supanova and creates a black hole that sucks all the surrounding Imperial star systems into it!

@Senator Drew - before you lecture me on how black holes are made, spare me your Imperial platitudes. :p

Due to the issues many seem to be having with 3.2, the Overlords have decided to postpone the carnage for 1 week.

The event is now on the Sunday 30th, assuming an update addresses the issues of the testers with excessive problems. However, if anyone wants to join this week as well, I will be there tomorrow as originally planned at 8pm GMT - Sorry for the inconvenience

Ok well as every one can see ALFA 3.03 is now live so lets try and give it a full test and join the battle . The dedicated teamspeak I run has a large number of channels so all players are invited to come and form groups . I will be in the Federal channels their are channels for every group so please use the one you like for the faction you decide to fight for .

Every one is welcome .

Not on TS because of the net speed but am having fun in the match :)

OK my net speed was unaffected I am running at 100meg up and down from one connection . Their were 11 commanders in teamspeak most did not get any lag or if they did only for a few minutes .
I saw a few commanders in game in fact we all did Hi Commander ViGOR
nice stream I was able to put it up on my second system . Hope you do not think I was not trying to help I could see you were in combat but could not see what with , I could see you firing and the incoming fire so was trying to help by putting my ship in harms way thus taking some of the incoming fire .

The teamspeak has a large number of channels and as most Empire Commanders did not show up a group of Federation commanders changed sides just for the battle . To make it more of an even fight I just noticed I said 11 commanders for got to count me so their were 12 commanders in teamspeak at least one was just an Observer with no ALFA pack but as I said all forum members are welcome .

It´s strange how your client ´crashes´ every time you get to low hull too. :D

I saw you fighting for the other side. Wondered what you were doing. It was mostly Feds with the occasional Empire player, but not many. Yesterdays battle as not a great experience for me due to the lag and players and NPCs vanishing before my eyes. Lots of ´rubber-banding´ too.

Hi hope every one is keeping up the war is 30 minutes time we have just gone to time GMT Sunshine Time
The quoted time caused confusion mainly by lack of understanding of GMT. Yesterday we went to Daylight Savings - BST (British Summer Time) - which is an hour ahead of GMT. GMT is constant and does not move, therefore 8:00 pm GMT is 9:00 pm BST (UK 'local' time). :)

I am a Radio Amateur and used to completing log books in GMT, as required, so always aware of what the time is in GMT. I am usually aware of Time zones generally due to being part of a special events team in an American-based game and having to coordinate times of the events so that anyone wishing to take part turns up at the correct time. Things did get a bit out of sync over the last few weeks due to the USA time zones going to Daylight Savings before we did but we are now back in line. :D

same thing kept happening for me with lag and when it didn't I was swarmed by Feds I truly suck in a dog fight :p

Please, please, please use GMT/UTC/Zulu-time (all the same), regardless of summer time, when arranging any kind of event on the internet.

The picture looks something like this (and that is just for parts of Europe) and different countries change between winter and summer time on different dates:

Some Time Zones in Europe
BST - British Summer Time (GMT+1/Alpha-time)
CEST - Central European Summer Time (GMT+2/Bravo-time)
CET - Central European Time (GMT+1/Alpha-time)
EET - Eastern European Time (GMT+2/Bravo-time)
EEST - Eastern European Summer Time (GMT+3/Charlie-time)
GMT - Greenwich Mean Time (Also UTC/Zulu-time)
IST - Irish Standard Time (GMT+1/Alpha-time (is a summer time))
MSD - Moscow Daylight Time (GMT+4/Delta-time)
MSK - Moscow Standard Time (GMT+3/Charlie-time)
WEST - Western European Summer Time (GMT+1/Alpha-time)
WET - Western European Time (GMT/Zulu-time)

If we can try to use just one time zone when planning events it would be great.

we should be using Galactic Mean Time surely?

Surely Galactic Meant Time is equal to Universal Coordinated Time (UTC).

So as long as Galactic Mean Time (GaMT) is defined equal to UTC which is equal to GMT/Z-time, yes we should.
