Horizons Docking permission revoked?

I have... well, had... a 400Cr bounty on my head for accidentally zapping a pirate before the scan had explicitly identified him, so after the scan did ID him, I finished him off and left for the local starport, feeling pretty confident, from previous experience, that the small bounty would not disallow docking.

On approach to the starport I requested and was given docking permission. Then, just as I was about to enter the cage, ships outside (presumably the fuzz) started shooting at me and the PROCEED TO LANDING BAY 22 disappeared and, as I entered to starport, TRESPASS WARNING appeared. I left immediately (and with time to spare) and my ship was then rapidly destroyed outside. I have a vid to show all of this.

I accept that the fuzz would fire upon a WANTED player, but I've not seen docking permission being revoked and becoming a TRESPASS WARNING before.

Is this a new feature?

{Edit: I see that I know have a dormant bounty of all of 435Cr for the next nearly 7 days. Is this how minor infractions are being dealt with now?)

You must have been scanned at the station for the fuzz & Satation to respond.

Being an Explorer & not into pewpew, Iv only noticed the bounty system since Horizons, when I forget to scan the skimmers at a POI before blowing them away. These tend to result in either a 9 min bounty which when expired seems to keep me as wanted in the system until I H-jump out, then I can return & pay off the credit due.

Thank you - yes, I'm aware of the H-JUMP option, but I've never had docking permission revoked and turned into trespass during the 8-minute initial countdown, and that's what I was mainly concerned about.

Just happened to me.

I had a dormant bounty on me. I was coming into land and was scanned. Next thing I knew I was told criminals aren't allowed to land and there were five hostile ships on my rear end. Fastest high wake I've done in a while

I am very inclined to use the "you must be new around here" meme, but I can't be bothered.

If you have a wanted sign on you and get scanned around the station while trying to dock, your docking rights will be revoked and you'll get shot at. Trespass is most likely because your docking rights got taken away and you happen to be inside/near the access corridor.

As for dormant bounty, this happens when you have a bounty in a system but you died without have anyone claiming your bounty, so the system authority assumes you're dead until you're scanned and discovered that you're very much alive.

This is actually one of the more annoying mechanics. Why the heck I can't zap a Wanted ship when it's Wanted, even though it wasn't identified by my ship's computer? First of all, who told the authorities that it happened? Second, why the authorities "didn't know" he was Wanted?

This leads to strange situations:

1. Once I had the annoying RNG-generated pirate, harmless in Sidey without shields following me even though I was not carrying any cargo (!!), interdicting me for like 3rd time, when I was supercruising towards the station. I run away two times, I roleplayed courier and I didn't want the fight, but once he dicted me for the third time, I got annoyed, turned to him and blasted him into pieces, apparently before the ID worked out he was Wanted (which was something I knew from the previous two escaped interdictions) and suddenly I was charged with murder.

2. Similar situation, only I escaped the guy like two times until I finally dropped from the supercruise in front of the station. As always when dropping from the SC, I set full throttle and boosted towards station. Suddenly the pirate dropped from SC in front of me, I smashed my shielded, boosting Asp into his unshielded Sidey, killing him instantly, so turned into Wanted, docking permission revoked, station opened fire on me and now I have to avoid the system for 4 days (or was it 5 days?).

I've been playing for more than a year, most of my money coming from BHing, and revocation of docking permission has never happened to me before.

I always used to dock at an outpost to await expiry of the initial 8 minutes. Then one day I forgot, and breezily docked at the local spaceport, and nothing happened. When I realised, I then assumed that small bounties probably don't cause retaliation by the station. I accept that being scanned by the fuzz would draw fire, but I've never had docking permission revoked.

And -- I've never had a 400Cr bounty, with 5 mins to go before it expired, become a 7-day bounty. Oh - and - even though I got out of the starport with 59 secs of the grace period to spare after being told I was trespassing, I STILL got a fine for trespassing. Go figure.

Okay, I may have missed it in the new rules (which are way complicated now anyway, and largely defy comprehension), but, FWIW, I think it's a bit unreasonable to deny docking for a minor infraction which occurred outside the starport, and also then to convert it into a full week's worth of blacklisting after destroying my ship and confiscating the bounties I'd earned for legitimate BHing a few minutes earlier. And that's not a whine - it's a point of view.

I was once leaving a station when out of no where I was hit by another ship, I never saw the ship, only heard it. Then crash, sent me spinning out of control. I assume it was the local law reinforcement because I was fined for reckless piloting. I mean honestly we should not be fined for these little things unless we had the ship targeted. I was even fined for trespassing when passing over another docking port when flying to my assigned port. Which I was only over the wrong landing platform for a few seconds. You would think that it would be a simple matter of programming, if timer reaches 00:00:00 then warrant is issued and a new counter is started. If second counter reaches 00:00:00, lethal force is used.

You need a record on file with the authorities proving you identified the target as Wanted prior to opening fire.

First of all, who told the authorities that it happened?

Your target had Report Crimes Against Me turned on, so his ship reported the assault.

Second, why the authorities "didn't know" he was Wanted?

They know he was wanted, but they also know that you didn't make sure he was Wanted prior to opening fire.

It sounds like you have Report Crimes Against Me turned off. Otherwise being interdicted should trigger a Report and grant you an instant scan.

I do have it turned on, but as I was in rage, I shot him first without having him targeted. Then I targeted him, and he was indeed insta-scanned.

Still, doesn't make sense to me at all. if he's Wanted, then that should give a blank card to anyone to destroy the ship even without prior identification. They should punish me only if my judgement was wrong and I harmed some innocent person by mistake. To punish me when I was right and I destroyed Wanted criminal, that's absurd.

Ever since there has been a x-min countdown this system has worked exactly this way. I am not sure why you only just noticed it, you must have been extremely, extremely lucky so far. In case you were wondering, a bounty is NOT a minor infraction, there are fines for those. As for the fine for trespassing, that has always worked that way too. When the timer expires you'll be executed, and you get fines before that point.
