Hello hope you can help
Q1: Weapons work at these flight modes:
Slow Y
Suborbital Y/N
Supercruise N
Hyperspace N
Q2:I am sitting outside Dahan Gateway ATM at 7 1/2 km with a load of leather, no fines or warrants that I know of (checked the system panel and nav panel) and at 1 2/3rds fuel (and I have tried other Stations with same result) and I cant get docking access. And I have waited and waited ships come out ask again same result. So Is the problem my end or...

A1. Correct for all and 'N' for suborbital. When you say 'suborbital' I assume you mean during orbital flight and glide. Your weapons only deploy when you are in normal flight mode.
A2. Try moving a little closer. You need to be below 7.5km to request docking. Busy stations will mean you need to wait but you should get a slot without too much of a wait.

Are your weapons retracted?.

Yep
One thing I know is no weapons on landing:)
Is there an escape speed from planet? 2016-01-03_00001.jpg

Not a speed per se, but an angle and a distance from the surface. Needless to say, if the gravity is too high and your thrusters are too weak, you wont get that distance.

Hi,

As said above you need to be below 7.5km to get docking permission.

There's a block bottom right saying mass-locked. That means you are next to a heavy object preventing frame shift drive (super/orbital-cruise & hyperspace). For stations it's approx 5.5km, for planets its 2.3km before you can get into orbital flight and 30(ish)km to charge hyperspace from orbital. For asteroid belts it's anything between 7km and 9km. (Basically it differs depending on what you are near).

Not to confuse but there's also mass lock factor which is when a lot of ships (or a few big ships) are near you. When you activate frame shift drive it will tell you in the centre that you are delayed by a factor of X. That means your charge up time is longer unless you can get far enough away from the larger ships and you'll suffer a bit more heat build up as it charges.

Okay got into Dahan Gateway and now on my way to Aulis to buy leather but out of my jump range although I'm taking the same route as I did last night without any dramas. What going on?

Are you low on fuel?
The thin little bar is the current usage to power thrusters/life support etc. The big blocks are Tons of fuel and are used for hyperspace (they go blue when you plot a route). The little bar re-fills from the big block bars and takes 1T to re-fill. Bigger ships obviously carry more fuel.

Also as a sidenote: for general newcomers information this sub-forum provides a wealth of information and good links: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/forumdisplay.php?f=75

Your jump range depends on the mass of your ship. If you bought some new gear or if you added more cargo than you had before, your jump range gets shorter.
