Wing up over 1.5 and 2.0?

Hey everyone!

I have bought horizons and would like to wing up with a friend who doesn't have horizons, is this possible?

If not, will I have the same ships if I log in on 1.5? Will everything sync between my versions?

Your session instance sharing will likely be unaffected but I'm not sure how the game handles the scenario of if you were on the planet surface. I suspect your wing man would drop out of SC just outside Orbital Cruise altitude.

This should be correct if everything works, there may still be a bug or two in the system. When outside orbital flight in Horizons (2.0) it should function identically to 1.5 allowing you to wing as normal regardless of their 1.5/2.0 status. They just wouldn't be able to follow you to the surface.

You can log-in to 1.5 with your 2.0 account. iirc if you are planet-side you will be magically transported into space just outside the planet although I'd just stay in 2.0 and try it that way first.

I've winged with people flying 1.5 and myself 2.0 with no problems. Obviously didn't try planetary landings.

Works fine for me and a few friends who don't have horizons, I've never landed on a planet though because they dont' have it, I assume it just drops them out of cruise.

It works fine.
But also if you don't want to risk anything, you can log into any version any time and have the same save. (You just need to have them all installed)
Only if you are parked on the planet and load up 1.5 instead of Horizons, you will appear in space above the planet.
