the PS4 at least as DB said in a recent video about the game supporting sonys new VR apparatus :)

shame i bought a xbox one for my lad recently.

But the X box one will have DX12 witch is a low lvl API like Mantel witch will improve gaming.

On the other hand, it's not likely that MS will allow cross-pollination networking of platforms - E.G. Xbox "cloud" does not speak to PC's or PS4's.

Sony allows it on it's system (FF14) uses same cloud for all players.

Dont believe its Outsider - I believe the code for that is earmarked for Elite. I think that's one of the games that FD announced they were making a few weeks okay.

This part just makes me smile- what a wonderful game world they're building.

Mm is the numbers right there???
120,000.. There is a number up there that no man can number.. So many..... It's jaw dropping.. Each star is not a stars they are other galaxies with billions of stars in in them & then some mad but well wonderfully made:D

120,000 was the figure for the stars based on real known star positions- plotted into the game based on tables of real world data. There's something like an additional 100 billion star systems that are procedurally generated. So plenty of places to visit.

The repeating footage isn't worth staring at but the interview itself is worth listening to.

its interesting that DB mentioned they had a version of the game up and running on LAN even as far back as the KS, i wonder if they will release the code for a lan server at some point so those of us who like that more social side of gaming can have PvP lan battles.

i used to run a small lan party for Renegade back in the day - only about a dozen people but half the fun of it was shooting someone and hearing them shout in surprise from the other side of the room.

can you imagine the scale of PvP battles we could have if we all met up at lavecon with our gaming rigs? it would be epic!

EDIT: wow long and detailed interview!

yes, I much prefer those more informal interviews where you don't hear the same questions asked.

Lave radio's 'outside broadcast' episode was also very good listening.

At 42:15, a statement is made in the background "Next week we should have some news about Beta" <- that interview was done last week?

Mind you, it was not David that said this, but a third person in the room.

So... Beta news this week?

:D:D:D

good work, I missed that first time around.

:)

I must admit I was surprised about quality of questions and interview itself. This is what you get when journalist is actually prepared to do piece about game.

Really nice job, and thanks David for all nice details about alpha and game in overall.

The other interesting quote around the same time was that they're putting the whole galactic map into alpha 4.
