Wedding Barge: 6 Get Me To The Church On Time missions

Time to put those Wedding Barges to good use. This mission is a variant of a timed delivery mission: the player has to deliver the groom to the barge inside the specified time window.

The next variant is called Runaway Bride. The Wedding Barge appears at a Distress Signal, or broadcasts requests for assistance in supercruise. After meeting the barge, it offers a mission to locate and recover the blushing bride. The same mechanic is used by Frag Cannon Wedding, where an enraged father commissions you to track down and return the scoundrel who has put his daughter in a delicate condition.

Thirdly we could have a mission called I Thought You Had It to mine one tonne of Gold with a very short deadline in order to recharge the barge's fabricator and replace a list wedding ring, in return for a good reward.

Fourthly, Star Crossed Lovers: in this long-range scenario, a romance spanning two major factions a scion of a Federal corporate family has fallen in love with the heir to an Imperial dynasty, and both must be collected and helped to elope to marry at a remote system, while faction members attempt to prevent the ceremony.

Fifthly, we could have a bachelor party situation where an unfortunate groom is found, unable to remember where the wedding is taking place, requiring a multi stage mission to a number of different systems before the right one is found.

Finally, The Honeymooners: the happy couple (or trio, if the ceremony took place in freewheeling Alliance space) desire to enjoy new vistas, achieved by collecting then from the barge and doing planetary scans of previously unknown moons in 3-5 different systems. Obviously this is a Do Not Die mission.
In all cases, a challenge is provided by NPC attacks from jilted ex lovers, angry brothers, and unpaid strippers and caterers. By using mission specific Occupied Escape Pods, we need not wait until passenger missions are implemented to add these.

Brilliant stuff. A great sense of humour in missions and variations of a theme.

Total +1 from me.

In a way similar, the "let's get out there, and explore" Asp convoy ..
I always want to give cartographics data to, so they actually will ;)

Love these idea's , but to expand on that, you could have mission where the barge is heading to the sun, moon, planet or what ever beautiful view the to-be-weds wanted to have as the backdrop of the magical day... only problem is the ship is stuck in super cruise... pilot has to interdict them to save the day. As a twist, the closer to the object they are going to collide with you drop them out of, the better the reward (so the crew can effect repairs without delaying the wedding of course). If they crash on a planet, then the wreckage should be salvageable, or you could try rescue survivors.

If nothing else if gives a positive use of the interdictor.

Another one:

Disgruntled bride and groom have their wedding interrupted by bounty hunters because the suspiciously inexpensive wedding ship is WANTED. (yes, I have seen this)

They want you to hunt down and kill the wedding planner.

Great idea, and one which leads on to a lovely idea: the Personnel Rescue Limpet - used to shuttle (willing) crewmembers from one ship to another. Interdict the out of control wedding barge and rescue the ship's complement before they crash into a black hole. Could be used in all sorts of other situations.

Wedding Planners - now there's another plot goldmine. As well as this situation, we could have a comparatively fluffy 'The Wedding Planner' multi-stage mission to procure food, drink, narcotics, musicians, guests and official.

Or how about a Bounty Hunter Wedding where you have to defend the Barge from wave after wave of vengeful pirates?

I am actually surprised that they don't buy some commodities like food, drink, etc at a higher price like Weapons Dealers do.

love it, so if the interdiction is succesful, but the take down disables thrusters or powerplant or life support or smothing, they would still be hurtleing towards the onject/running out of air and thats when your limpits can come into play to transfer the guests and crew off the stricken ship.
