Call me Baron Drew...

Got my naval ascendancy mission for Baron rank just now after the tedious grind up the ranks. Hopefully manage that over lunch, then I'll get the Clipper I've been after for over a year.

I know this be a bit 'meh' for many of you, but my personal playtime is very limited indeed (I was a KS backer and have logged a mere 1 week in the game) so it's a big deal for me. :)

The Clipper is kind of my 'end-game' ship for now. Small enough to dogfight, gorgeous to look at and can manage a bit of everything. It's my personal 'best' ship. My only wish is that is was called the 'Courier', but hey, you can't have everything.

I'm going to retcon my book so my heroine is flying a Clipper at the end rather than the Courier mentioned in the original text. So I can argue I'm doing 'research' for any potential upcoming sequel <cough cough>.

So the Senator will finally have a ship worthy of his egregious career. Bask in my greatness. ;)

All the best folks, and Imperial greetings and felicitations.

Cheers,

Drew.

You're never alone with schizophrenia

Of course this means that Senator Drew gets to order Baron Drew about.

Congratulations. It's good going after just the one week of gameplay. I've been playing for 6 weeks and I'm still raking the bins for money <sigh>.

Grats Drew. Savor it.

Just remember, don't underestimate any Alliance pilots now, some of them have grown up inside a cobra. ;)

Thanks! :) I've still got my original Cobra, it's been sitting under a dust sheet in the Prism system for about 3 months, but it was my Kickstarter reward with a funky green mercenary paintjob and I won't sell it. I went to Sag A in it and out to the Formidine Rift, so it's got quite a few light years under its landing gear.

I'll probably keep it as a cheap 'rare' trader when the fancy takes me. I have an Asp for the long range stuff now, and 'soon' the Clipper for basking and general arsing about. :) I'll be selling the A-Rated Courier for Clipper upgrades as it will become a bit superfluous.

First stop for the Clipper will be a flight to Prism for a bit of eye candy and perhaps a planetary landing on one of 'my worlds'. :)

Cheers,

Drew.

The Clipper sure is agile enough to dogfight, but I wouldn't call it "small"... Its larger than a Python, only smaller than Anaconda, Cutter, Corvette and T9.

Grats on Barron!

Yes, small is not one of it's selling points... unless you are talking about the fuel tank....

Although King Ranualf:cool: has a nice ring to it also.... hmmm King Drew...
I will probably do the last two ranks for the Feds once i am back fromt he distant lands project... so probably about Easter!

I have an idea, you could roll an alt and call it Dom... grind empire rep to max then you would be called...... King Dom... BOOM:D :D :D

Argus Leadhead, Duke of Turir welcomes you to the Imperial nobility. May your slaves forever keep your canopy glass scratch free and shiny lest the value a quick trip out the airlock.

Congrats! Great inspiration for me. I've been doing Empire missions for weeks myself in a fed assault ship. Just hit Lord two nights ago. I want a Clipper for trading...feel too vulnerable in a T7.

I was going for Lord high rear admiral vice chairman of the entire universe DFC, BAR, BSC/SSC, HMRC...

But that will do for now. ;)

Cheers,

Congrats on getting to Baron and getting the Clipper. I'd recommend A rating the thrusters at the earliest opportunity to get the best from your Clipper. If you're coming from an Asp you'll notice that the Clipper is a lot thirstier so you may want to plan your routes a little more carefully. Other than that the only flaw with the ship is that it can only use large landing pads which rules out visiting outposts at the moment.

Frank, that's what you get for working for the Alliance and sticking to legal jobs. Having said that, I thought that miners were raking in the credits these days ,with all those missions paying way over market price for platinum, osmium and painite.

The only things the T7 has over the Clipper are range and fuel economy. With a Clipper you can easily deal with smaller NPCs, anything else you can run from.
