MKIV Cobra and Viper...

I can't find anyplace that sells the MkIV versions of the Cobra and Viper. I'm beginning to wonder if they're only available to Horizons buyers.

Is that the case or am I just not looking hard enough?

I've checked huge pop and wealthy industrial and high tech shipyard types in both Empire and Federation space with no luck.

You need Horizons for access to the Cobra Mk IV iirc. Dunno about the Viper as I'm well past flying something that small.

I believe I bought my Viper Mk4 in Kremainn. Take a look there and see what you find. I've seen Mk4s all over the place. Maybe you've just been unlucky with your station selection.

If you do not have Season 1 and Season 2 on your account you will not get the option to buy the Cobra MkIV. The Viper MkIV is available to everyone. It has to be your odds of seeing either one are skewed by the likely lack of access to a Cobra MkIV. The Viper MkIV is an interesting ship, one I might have enjoyed when I was flying Cobras and Vipers.

Whitelaw Enterprise in Tote.

Sells both, and has some of the best outfitting in the game for small ships. Surprised the system isn't more well known. Even used to be Li Yong-Rui (however you spell his name), thus had the 15% discount. There's a reason it's my home system.

I love mine. Almost wanted to use her for Distant Worlds... But the Diamondback Explorer is just better.

Cobra Mk IV is a great mining ship though.
