Suggestion: In cockpit TV for VR users

While doing cargo runs and smuggling, I often have the TV going on the side. It'd be nice to have a tv in the cockpit when playing in VR. Something off to the side, so you'd have to turn your head a bit to see it.

The hardest part I think would be how the content got to the game client. I wonder if Google's Chromecast has a software equivalent.

Great idea OP. Flying long haul in VR can be pretty dull sometimes. Would watch some Galnet and old SOL TV for sure.

Adding my voice to the 'this is a waste of time' side of the argument. I thought the point of VR was to become completely immersed in your environment?

I ACTUALLY have a VR headset that I use to play ED so I know a bit more than you on the subject.

Although I'm not as commited to this idea as you are against it, I think you are wrong and also a bit simple minded to suggest it would take anything away from immersion. It would actually add immersion because in a real long haul spacecraft doing a lot of LYS you would not spend hours looking at the stars. NOT having an activity to pass the time while jumping is actually an immersion killer.

You have to be an actual VR player doing trade runs or exploration in VR to understand this; and I doubt you are so your opinion on VR immersion is pretty useless. Still you should just oppose this because it doesn't really effect you personally.

Waste of time for a small fraction of a niche players (not all VR player would want this), when so much simple feature are waited for so long and Horizon need a lot of investment.

Wow. I wasn't even trying this time.

I didn't suggest it'd take away from immersion. I said 'immersed in your environment'. Environment meaning the stuff around you, and generally not a TV screen.

I don't need to be a VR user to understand it, or to have an opinion on it. Also, +1 cookie to me for the "it doesn't affect you, it shouldn't matter what you think" argument.

Swing and a miss.

If you need some entertainement while trading, or exploring, you can for now, listen to SideWinder Radio

If you play the game i can't understand you want to watch TV Oo

It's niche player desire, but i'm sure that Frontier will implement all Oculus Right feature as a technological showcase. It's good advertisment for them.
So may have something in the future... But for now even our smallest desired are not filled, because they are putting all their efforts inside Horizon (and mostly bug correction for now).
