Pc master race I need your help.

I used to be a pc gamer way back when Windows 98 and Xp were popular. I have since converted to console because they are way more reliable in my hands. I have gone through several computers because they slowed down or just had a unrecoverable crash. My consoles however have never broke down on me, hell my n64 still works great. The reason I need help is because ALOT of games I really want to play are on pc only so I want recommendations on a cheap pc that can play the following games.
Elite dangerous
Space engineers
From the depths
Planetbase
Day z
War thunder
It does not need to be 1080p at 60 fps(my internet can not support that anyway)
If it can run all these games on med/low settings at 30fps I would be fine.
My budget is cheap ($400 or less) all recommendations all welcome. Also please add a comparison to a xbox one so I can see if it's really an upgrade.

Think you'll struggle to get a E: D Horizons rig for less than $400, especially if you need to include a monitor in that.
Think you'll also struggle to find anyone really into PC who can provide a comparison to xbox too.

Good luck!

Look for an i5, 1tb SSDHD, 8gb RAM, 500w PSU, cheap case.

Just running off the integrated graphics will be fine at 1080 for most things. Indulge in a cheapish graphics card when you have a bit of cash.

There's just no comparison to the Xb1, and I have one.

Most budjet pc setups now will handle 1080p just fine, Thow this has nothing to do with your internet connection :) so no worries. It's down to hardware.

$400 will not get you a decent machine, especially given the fact that you would need a Windows license. (I have no idea if ED can be run in Vine on Linux.) You should be looking at about $600 worth of hardware/software. Maybe look for used ones - I sometimes come across some decent parts on Craigslist.

My son has an i3 with 8Gb ram & an nVidia 750ti. It runs E:D (Not tried Horizons), Space Engineers & a few other FPS types with no problems at all. The basic PC is a £200 Acer Office jobbie & the card & uprated PSU were about another £150 (hand-me-downs from my PC).

Obviously more is always better, but it does the job.

Actually most of the games I want to play are coming to xbox soon. So I can get my pc gamer fix without paying for a new computer.
Space engineers, dayz and subnotica (Gir autocorret) are coming to Xbox one soon. Elite is already on it just a tad behind on paid content.
New pc not needed but eventually I will save up for something good.

I would pay $600-$800 for pre build pc with big case and after year or two update that. I bought/build my current pc 3 years ago updated Gpu year ago and will update cpu this year.
