ASP making more credits/hr than a Cutter... Really?

Smuggle in my ASP and Cobra both have no shields and no guns....SPEEEEEEEED is my weapon

these 2 ships have earn't me over 500 mill. Been destroyed once and that was when I mistakenly pressed boost inside a Station and rammed the back wall DOH!!

Wow ! Thumb up to you !

First Robigo Run I flew, was in a Cobra Mk IV with shields and weapons... got to my first drop at 33% hull, systems malfunctionning everywhere (mostly due to continuous overheating while fuel scooping and FTL way to soon after fuel scooping). Had to fight more pirates than when I actually hunt for them.

I'll give it a go with you cobra III to get a taste of the "catch me if you can" adrenaline. At least I will make a cheap fireball if I fail the boosting away method ;)

Yup shadow deliveries are broken. I can make 30 million an hour while being semi afk.

Uh, how? Even with log bouncing I can't even stack $30 million worth of shadow missions within an hour in Fehu, let alone deliver them. Is being Elite the secrete? I'm 90% Tycoon so I'll see soon.

Folks claiming exorbitant amounts of credits/hour shadow smuggling fail to mention how long it takes to stack them, let alone check and weed out those 10,000+ ls stations, gamble on those where planetary system is unavailable, or the distances between the delivery systems in the bubble.

My biggest money maker/hour is still A-->B, two jump 3500cr @ 728T. I can only stand to to do this about 4 times for $10 million before doing something else.

I may give the Cutter a try at Fehu, but man a 400ly route Laden is going to be painful. Taking a Python and stacking normal deliver missions would seem like a better idea, but you still have to deal with the time of stacking missions and sourcing cargo back in the bubble.

You should play the lottery, I made only 8M in my 2 hr session yesterday.

The thing I'm more shocked about his post is the "afk" part.

Seriously, I never felt so much in danger and in need not to look away from my screen since I do sahdow deliveries.

Jumping, being interdicted up to 3 times every other waypoint, fuel scooping in stress of some unexpected arrival of cops/pirates, getting 4-5 unscoopable stars in a row when low on fuel and not knowing if I'll have to jettison the whole ship, approching that station not knowing if i'm going to be scanned on the finish line, ruining my whole stack of deliveries before I even make the first one...

Nah, I can AFK and FA-off practice in a HazRES but shadow deliveries keep me in stress for hours.

For Example. My 40 Ton Cobra, i take to Robigo Approx 14 Jumps (10 Mins). I take max 5 missions no less than 5/6 million, so let's say 28 Million. take about 3 cycles of Solo/Group/Open to load up. Say 10 Mins. Fly to deliver all 5 deliveries inc Interdictions and evasive action....Approx 1 hour so that 80 Mins for 1 complete run. so that's 28/80 =.35x 60 = 21 Million per hour (Think thats right in my woefully poor maths.

Take more missions, means more time, but if you only go for the 5-6Mill missions, then this works even more per hr.

There are a few tricks to use to go "semi afk /or opps I forgot i was playing the game and just passed right by my dropoff in sc!lol!" while doing these missions.

Major one is to just dive as close to every single star you jump to with out dropping out of SC. drop your throttle to zero and then point straight up keeping your behind right on the star. everything that just spawned in with you will now try and get behind You.. "Oh Hai officer. why sure! just pull up right here behind me and i`ll gladly show you my cargo" and enjoy Your now clear spaceway whilst browsing the forums or enjoying a beverage until the next jump is done. in fact.. after a while You can just use voice attack and a mouse and forget the keyboard altogether.

Edit:semi related and fwiw: mario 64 can be beat with out pressing A even single time... and even beat without even using a button and just the stick.

Long range legal hauling in the Cutter should net you 72mil per run(roughly 12 missions of 60ton cargo paying 6mil each)

ASP doing smuggling missions can net you 82mil (22 missions of 1-9 ton paying 1.7-5.5 mil each)

And once you get a handle of how to scoop with your back to the star and how to boost away instantly it's semi-afk till you reach the bubble and start approaching ports.

Video or it didn't happen. Love the exaggeration on these forums sometimes, it is super fun!
30 isn't even a task that's only holding 6 missions at a time. Run extra tanks so you don't waste any time scooping, each jump into a system your chat window will fill up with the pursuing NPC messages. The only ones you need to worry about are the ones in red. If you get a security you just target him and don't let him get behind you, the interdiction never even starts.

I think we just have a lot of people who can barely fly or don't understand the mechanics that lead them to getting scanned.

Aha...That must be it. Do you actually get a third refresh from Group? I only bounce between Solo/Open and if no fresh log to desktop in disgust in order to get a new server. I don't group with anyone.

I now see that the requirements for those claims high shadow claims are A) Being Elite B) Group with someone for the third refresh.

So basically a 30 mil asp makes more money than a 300 mil dedicated trader Cutter... Really?

Actually, IRL, you'd make more money smuggling narcotics in a small cheap car than transporting vegetables in a large truck.
Now, this would be riskier as well, which is not really the case in a video game, especially this one.

Really, just one turret ? You are not the first person I see smuggling with an almost unarmed ship but I never understand why anyone do that. "SNIP"

My asp has no weapons or sheilds at all..
But if i take my python well thats a diferent beast altogether.

Hi, i´m currently at FEHU but i dont see any legal missions for more than 1,5mil with 170 cargo (with log in/log off, elite rank, alied with major and minor factions).

Where do you find such missions?

Trading doesn't need missions,it needs a working BGS that creates new high demands and supplies every hour, not every never.

Highly profitable trade routes need to be discovered in the game rather than on a website. Then exploited, the disappear again after a few trips. Not remain active and profitable until the end of time, hello Gliese 868

Guys, where do you get those long range trading missions? At 17 Draconis? Or somewhere else?

They need to limit the output of Shadow Missions, so that a maximum number can be undertaken every day. Say hello to Elite's daily quests! :)

Just WHY, if you don't want to partake in these mission then don't. Pray tell me why you want it it limited? Do these mission spoil the way you play the game? For a good many Cmdrs these missions have relit their desire to play ED, for what ever reason more Cmdrs are having FUN doing these missions, cause they don't suit some cmdrs why do they want them stopped.

I hate pirates, but i don't want them to be Limited or obliterated (Hmmmm double thinking on this one :) ), i don't like Exploring, but i don't want it limited.

Shadow missions are take it or leave it, no one is forcing you to do them. For the love of God just leave them alone and let SOME Cmdrs, have what this game is all about, FUN!!!!!!!!
