Ships Ship names

Not in game yet but I know a lot of people have names for their ships. I've spent a fair bit of time coming up for names I think suit most of mine, it took a long time and I'm still missing a few but I can explain most of my names. Pretty sure I've seen a thread about this but I can't find it and the last time I recall seeing it was in April last year!

Here's my list in full:

Would love to hear some of your names as well as any suggestions for the 5 I'm missing.

If you can't tell by the name it's an exploration ship.

Dream Ship
Beluga Liner...one day

Type-9, the "Two Kids' Tuition"
Imperial Clipper, the "FNS Leviathan"
Imperial Courier, the "FNS Dove"

Federal Corvette, the "FNS Last Horse of the Apocalypse"
Asp Explorer, the "Chasing Infinity"

FNS=Federal Navy Ship
I should also mention that I have no allegiance to or rank within the Empire. The coronation of Arissa Lavigny-Duval allowed me to acquire the two Imperial ships, which is why they're christened with FNS.

Asp: Ship with no name MKII (So I can make a parody of horse with no name)
Clipper: Tydirium (It felt fitting to have an Imperial ship be named after the famous imperial shuttle in the StarWars franchise (Also I love that name))
Cobra MKIII: Bessie (Like Nessie but better!)
Python: Monty
Adder: Blackadder (Because BBC)
Vulture: Spock (Because i always think Vulcan is the name of the make and not Vulture xD)
DBE: Moist Von Lipwig (I was reading a bit of Terry Pratchett at the time and of course the colour)

Also my 5 Haulers: Challenger, Endeavour, Atlantis, Columbia and Discovery (Entirely original I know :D)

Recently slimmed down my garage, so I am down to:

Agincourt - Anaconda multipurpose that leans combat
Scipio - Assault Ship multipurpose that leans combat
Miklagard - Python miner
Bad Habits II - Asp exploration ship
Desine - Viper Mk III fighter

I also have an Imperial Eagle and a Viper Mk IV, both combat focused, that are in need of names.

Vulture =Voidmare .Asp=Silver Fox.FDL=Prophet.Python=Paragon.Mining conda=Hades.
Combat conda=The BridgeBurner.Cutter=The Lady Envy.Corvette=Rake.

Thanks, just gave me a bit of inspiration for my Adder which I'm tentatively naming "Voidstalker" unless anything better comes up before I next fly her. A brief google tells me it's a Warhammer 40k ship but I couldn't care too much really :p

I may also steal "infinity" at some point, maybe for the Cobra Mk IV... Got a few ideas bubbling again. Thanks everyone, and thanks to Kancro for the links :D

Mine are named after my favourite goddesses...

Cobra (mk3) - Freyja (Old Norse goddess associated with sexuality, magic and death.)
This is my main ship I use for smuggling and piracy.

Vulture - Kali ("the black one"; Hindu goddess associated with power and destruction.)
My combat ship for war zones, kill-stuff missions and assassinations.

Type 6 - Minerva (Roman goddess of Wisdom, associated with trade and commerce.)
My trading ship, obvs :)

Cobra (mk4) - Hecate (Greek goddess linked to the moon, magic and witchcraft.)
Planetary explorer / attack ship.

My Cmdr's RP is of Welsh descent from the Pwyll system, so all my ships have Welsh names except one special one.

Anaconda - Y Cawr Aur (The Golden Giant)
Python - Y Ddraig Las (The Blue Dragon)
Imperial Clipper - Y Brenhines Wyn (The White Queen)
Imperial Courier - Y Dywysoges Wyn (The White Princess)
Imperial Eagle - Y Llances Wyn (The White Maid)
Vulture - Y Tarw Ci (The Bulldog)

There's a number of others, but the standout is my old Asp Explorer. When I set out in February last year, she was "Y Ddraig Las" When I got back after 100,000ly and 4 months, she got renamed to "Faith Manages". She's been moored at Jameson Memorial since, only taken out once to keep the old hand in.

Dwi'n hoffi yr enwau! ;)

Diolch yn fawr!
Mae'n ddrwg gen i, dw i'n Cymraeg ac byw yn Gymru, ond dydw i ddim siarad Cymraeg. O'r gorau?

... but if you're Welsh and live in Wales, is it not valuable to learn Welsh to keep it alive, like an old tradition?
Or do you literally mean you don't "speak" it, as in vocally?

I can't "speak" it, at least not quickly enough to keep up with a conversation.
I can understand key words when it's spoken to me, and I can grok the meaning from the written word. Every child is taught Welsh in school from Infants through to options in high school. The thing is that unless you use it and practice it, you never get better than a passing knowledge. One thing that anyone born and brought up in Wales can do is pronounce placenames. ;)
