All from being a little too emphatic responding to folks saying how everything is broken and it has to be remade just how they like it or they'll ragequit and the game will die and FD will go broke etc Plus I have a bit of a foul mouth IRL (ex-sailor. 'nuff said) and it sometimes spills over into my online persona

Dig into the 1996 Telecommunications Act Of 1996 [TCA] - we (Americans) gave the carriers an estimated $300 billion dollars in excess profits and tax deductions that have been collected for this purpose [of building out the fiber backbone and 'last-mile' pipes]. And what did we get for that? Fleeced; tin-cans-and-string speeds... and Congress didn't do a futzing thing about it.

Trust me, what I actually SAY while reading some of the more umm... ludicrous posts on here (not exactly pointing at this sequence of threadnauts but it dies seem to be a subject that attracts them) would not be acceptable on any family friendly forum. Me too - and to be fair, they are better than Frontier (the US ISP) who I ditched recently for my backup ISP. Service that goes down for 4 days in a row just doesn't help anyone
