Newcomer / Intro Paying a fine to 'German Pilot Lounge' - how??

Ok. I'm very much a noob to Elite Dangerous! Was playing some Solo this evening, when I had a little accident in the docking bay of a station. I think I clipped another ship, or possibly the station itself.

Anyhow. My ship survived; I docked; refuelled, etc; launched... and then I noticed that I had a fine listed under by Transactions menu, which reads:

"200 CR fine in German Pilot Lounge"

How the heck do I pay this off?

The fine doesn't show up in my Contacts menu when docked. And I can't remember the system in which I had the 'accident' that caused the fine. Clicking on the fine notice in the Transactions menu doesn't bring up any further details, as it does with missions.

I have 6 days to pay it off. Otherwise I assume that the German Pilots will track me down and break my kneecaps. I've Googled 'German Pilots Lounge' and they appear to be an Elite players group.

All very confusing.

Help! :)

Hehe, well that's one of the problems this game still has. If there is no hint of the system name in the name of the faction itself, you have no way of knowing where to find it.

That said, though, I googled the name up and it seems that GPL is actually a PLAYER faction. Their site is all in German, I'm afraid and I wasn't able to find any clue of where they are located.

But if you manage to find them here, on the forums, you can go and ask where they reside and then go to their station to pay the fine. :)

EDIT: Okay, so I was able to find traces of them but no names or separate thread. BUT. We do have a German sub forum, here, which means we have a German moderator, also. So what you COULD do is send Abacus a message (https://forums.frontier.co.uk/member.php?u=29849) and ask him(her?) if he has a way of helping you, either by putting you in contact with them or simply look on their page and read where is their home system.

Then again, if you don't want to bother anybody, you could always kill yourself to get rid of that fine. It depends if you are far enough into the game to be able to afford it.
You could also ignore it completely. It will turn into a local bounty if you fail to pay it off, which means that you will be wanted in that particular system. It's no big deal. It's only a limited time before it expires and galaxy is big. Chances are you'll never visit that system again. But if you are jumping around and suddenly see the warning that you are wanted in that system, well, you found it. :D

Good luck!

What? O.O Why would something like that break your i********? (I really dislike that word)

You think there won't be Germans, 3000 years from now? Or pilots? Or that they won't be able to have a lounge?

Silly is relative. I for one, applaud the use of creative - and yes - silly names in some of the NPC factions. Player groups don't exactly settle on simple, staid, boring names after all. Fuel Rats? A silly name, yes, but also adorable. It fits them perfectly.

Fuel Rats mainly has something to do with fuel so at least it's appropriate.

German Pilots Lounge has too many problems within the context of the game and it's lore.

And meeting Derpy Hooves in a T6 does bother you as well, I presume? Because many NPCs were named by backers.
People are people. They do silly things. At least I was able to recognize on first look that it is a player faction. In game, it would mean for me to not meddle with politics in that system.
If you want a lore, think of some. This game is one big LARP.

Anyway, what about we focus on helping newbies, here, and take stuff like this to Dangerous Discussion?
