[PROPOSAL] Hybrid turret mode

Hello FD,

Currently there are three turret modes.
Fire forward, Fire at will and fire at target.
Would it be possible to create a fourth hybrid mode?

I would like a mode in which turrets fire exclusively at a targeted ship when it is in their view, but will also engage other hostiles, that are actively attacking my ship, when the main target can not be fired upon.
As soon as the main target comes into view the turret should concentrate fire on the main target.
To be clear: The turrets would not be engaging all wanted targets in the area, but only targets attacking my ship!

Fire at Will does not engage any Wanted ship. It targets only enemy ships that are tagged as red. This means that if you don't get shot or don't shoot a target it won't be fire at will.

Priorities goes the closest ship in range.

For your option it may be usefull, i don't know.
 
FD have stated that turrets will not hit friendly ships in fire at will mode.

They won't INTENTIONALLY SHOOT a friendly ship, but they don't give a toss about people that fly into the path.

One of our team members brought a turret Cutter into the Haz Res zone. Totally hillarious as his ship kept catching us with "friendly fire" as we passed through the LOS to his turrets target.

Happens more than you think, they turn to boost away, and I follow. Turret is firing, so as I fall onto the 6 of the target, it is shooting me in ass. Especially a big ship like the Clipper.
 
Why add a fourth mode? This should really be what fire at will does - fire at will should always take current target as a priority when available, in my opinion.

Perhaps you are right. I would be very happy with that.
I never use fire at will currently, because I feel like I lose all control.
