Small tip for interdictions in less agile ships

Many people seem to be having problems with interdictions. Some of these problems appear network related (stuttering, vector jumping), can't help with that. But others have difficulty with the vector moving too fast. I just noticed I do something counter-intuitive in these situations, and maybe not everyone knows about it. Generally speaking, when flying a agile SC-ship (Eagle, Vulture, DBS, FGS etc) all you have to is is simultaneously roll and pitch towards the vector. In less agile ships (eg. Asp) I sometimes find I am flying in circles after the Vector without getting any closer. For example, the vector is above and to the right of me, and rolling and pitching towards it doesn't work. In these cases I find very briefly pitching away (down, in this case) from the vector works very well. You kind of 'push' the vector to the center and a bit further above you, after which pitching straight up gets you back on the vector.

Thanks for the tip man, for me the interdiction system seems broken tbh, its a freaking nightmare sometimes, but i will try what you said and see what happens!

I can vouch for this 100%. I run an Asp myself for the smuggling runs, and that trick does honestly keep me in SC. You know, barring the sudden use of an "I win" button by the NPC.

Well i just tryed this tip but it didn't work, iam really getting tired of this :):):):)ed up system, i lost how many times i log out of the dame game because of it..And you know what is even lamer?, when you are landing on an outpost and suddenly security ships starts scanning you, no time to react and not even chaff can help with that, then you lose all the mission, freaking ludicrous...

If you want, record a vid of you doing a run and drop me a pm. I havent been scanned the past 100+ missions so maybe I can give some suggestions. As for 'suddenly being scanned': only military outposts have stationary security. There will only be security at any other outpost if a ship followed you, which they announce in SC through the comms. From that moment there are mulriple options to deal with it.

That seems to be how it is intended to work, however I have had loads of incidents during the last 3 days with Security Ships spawning right next to me at outposts, no warning or sign of them in SuperCruise. Generally either shoot them and go for the landing, or low wake out as fast as possible.

Are you sure they weren't following you from before from SC? Authority ships which "plan" to scan you and are at some point visible in SC may not be able to start the interdiction process, but they will drop on your wake when you arrive at a station/outpost. The same is true for pirates, I always get pirates to drop after me near a station after they threaten me in SC.

This...
Also sometimes they are waiting for you 8-9km out from the outpost when you drop in. When you go to the contacts tab to ask for docking check for other ships (or use your scanner). If there are, target it, if its authority boost away until its off your scanner then it will Low/High wake out and you can boost back to the outpost

When you drop out at a station you are outside its firing range. Wait ten seconds: no ships? Dock in peace. Security? Attack and jump.

This works, but the fact remains, you can be jumped with no warning. I checked the scanner in SC, no ships at all anywhere, checked when I arrived at the outpost, nothing, then suddenly *pop*, right in front of me. Happens probably once every run (10 missions or so). Have learnt to get away now but still rather glitchy.

Just happened again. No sign of security in SC, was constantly checking, no warning, nothing. Got within the mass lock distance of an Outpost, suddenly the security ship appears, starts scanning. Thought I might have time to dock, get scanned while entering the hangar.

Should this be reported as a bug or?

Thanks for the tip Sleutelbos, I do not have as much problem as many with the interdiction system, never tried you suggestion but will do next time I am having a prob - more tools the more chance of success.
