Newcomer / Intro How do I take photos in ED?

Use the F10 key for a normal resolution screenshot or Alt-F10 for a high resolution screenshot (HR in Solo mode only). Assign the "Confidential Camera" a.k.a Debug Camera to a key in Options/Controls for exterior shots. Images are stored in your Pictures/Frontier Developments/Elite Dangerous folder.
Important to indicate it, because many commanders seek the images. +1

well, I only get distorted images or stuff that looks like 3 different images have been placed on top of each other. I thought the Alt-F10 only works in solo? Happy to learn otherwise
As an extension to this, what is the shortcut key for an external view of your ship please?
Yo Commanders! I'm gonna use this occassion for to ask out about program called "FRAPS", as I never, ever played and never ever will play SOLO, the Alt-F10 is no good at all.
When using FRAPS I'm having tottaly messed up colours on my screenshoots. Any Commander out there forced FRAPS/ELITE to co-op witch each other with no green stars as a result? Or could someone be so kind to point me out some other frames capturing soft working flawless with ELITE?
If so, many thanks in advance and fly dangerously Commanders!!!

While you wont find F10 in your preferences under key bindings, the debug camera is having its key bind in the game OPTIONS (you can assign any key you want). Seek there for your answer, as I totally not remember the default one key..., using one of my HOTAS buttons for this one.

I believe the default key bindings is "left control+left alt+spacebar"
Would like to know this too please, am guessing you just use MS Paint or perhaps The Gimp to convert?
You can install EDDiscovery. Don't forget to add verbose logging. It has an option to convert the image to another format and optional deletes the original file. Bonus: you now have a flight log and you'll know which systems you have visited.
