Can someone help me understand why both cannons and PAs now have 105 total ammo while rail guns keep the measly 31? Is there any sort of reason for this?
It used to be about right but I think with the changes to hull penetration if anything the ammo count needs to go up a little. I run 4x C2 rails on my ship, and even with everything hitting the mark it takes about 5 or more hits to kill a Cobra mk3. That's quite a lot really - soon eats into your reserves.
Yes, it's too low. It needs to be at least the same as PA ammo. But anything over 60 would be welcome. The ammo just makes rail guns non viable except for sparse use.
I think having railgun ammo at either 40 or 45 would make more sense. Having it at 30 is really far too limiting. Against hull-tanking builds, you can easily hit every shot and run out of ammo far before you do lethal damage.
Synthesis is just inadequate for ammo purposes as there is no way to effectively gather materials.
Promise Ydiss, i am not stalking you, but agree with you again. But also in this 'give us more please plea', don't forget my Fav weapon on the FDL "Frag Cannons"

Frags now have 90 so the precedent is made![]()
Not that I wouldn't like more ammo in the rail guns
once you find a planet with Vanadium you can gather quite a few reloads given irons ubiquious nature
I am sitting on 12 reloads currently
