Aliens in Elite: Dangerous

Unless I'm losing my marbles, didn't David Braben hint at the possibility of other alien life apart from the Thargoids in the Q & A video the other day..? He didn't want to give much away in terms of spoilers though.

Will there be other, non-Thargoid species?
Yes

Was what was posted... This doesn't mean sentient life, though. Hell, microbes can be considered alien life, which we technically already have with ammonia-based and water-based life gas giants lol.

But I believe it was Michael Brookes who said "Big Game Hunting" was definitely something we can look forward to later on. I would love to be able to find other intelligent life, though, even if it is far from humanoid.

I remember playing X-3 terran conflict an UFO, typical shape, passed by my ship at a very higher speed and got lost soon....I was unable even to check it closer...that added mistery to the gameplay and it is a situation than could be done for those explorers getting lost within the non populated areas of the Galaxy...it did happen just once so it was not a very common thing.

I remember my radar had time to target it, and it said something like unknown.

It's not really lore-supported either. The only non-human civs are the Thargoids and the eulsive forerunner-artifact-mystery-things.

This is not entirely true. There is evidence of the existence of advanced non-Thargoid civilisations from the year 2280AD in the Elite timeline.

Cheers,

Drew.
