FWIW just been at site while a recording was made.

My on the fly translation is it's still the name of the local body, so "Merope 5c".

SO no morse change when local to barnacle, but as always with good science it would be good if another person could confirm. :)

Sup went to the Structures with an UA. UA haven't acted any different. Also tried to put the UA on top of structure but that seems impossible. Has anyone else tried this?

Regarding the Galnet post, I have a theory:

"strength of signal indicates it originated from a star system approximately 23 light years from Maia. Unfortunately, interference from a local black hole has made it impossible to determine a vector for the transmission"

Notice it mentions the local black hole, which is quite a long way from Obsidian Orbital. If the signal get interference from the black hole, then perhaps it passed close to it. For each of the ~23ly systems, target them from OO and see which ones would have passed near the black hole in Maia.
Will the signal repeat once we found more of the Barnacles? Do they call home - distress signal & the next moment a big mothership sits in front of us? Glad I have guns on my ASP.

In summary:

AUs cause electronics to glitch in stations
Barnacles suck materials from the surface and digest that into MAs
Next to a Barnacle a crashed conda filled with A-grade materials is found

I took the barnacle recording from shadowshian and run them through my spectrum analyser. I don't expect anything to be gained from it, just did it because I can ^^

What you can see here is a snapshot of the noise at the 10 second mark. Looks like very specific frequencies in a short burst.

Peaks seem to be at roughly 27.84Hz, 41.71Hz, 55.68Hz, 69.65Hz, 84.03Hz, 96.93Hz, 110.56Hz, 125Hz, 138.8Hz, 151.91Hz, 166.85Hz. Then nothing that stands out, and another one at 363.91Hz, 853.13Hz and 1029Hz.

Hey, maybe they are coordinates? Not the last three, obviously. :D

Looks pretty. Better view of the spectrogram:

He send me the recording via dropbox and I hesitate to post the link here. But if he reads this, maybe he can make the file available for everyone. Unless he already did, thread is moving fast. ^^
