I found another barnacle on the first planet at pleiades sector JC-U B3-2 cords are: 23.16, 94.07

24 km away from the one found earlier at 21.93,96.98

i Found it Via a glitch where it allowed me to lock on the "Organic structure from 24 km away all the way on the other barnacle

Ps this one is on the side of a hill

Unfortunatly my print screen wasnt working so i just took out my phone and snapped a pic.

Long live the old ones! Join the church or Barnacle today!

The barnacle at -26.35 ; -156.40 seems to be pointing to the direction of "BD+60 2522" system. Can somebody check this out with other barnacles we found so far? This could be their homeland...

Can someone check this out?

The planet is tidally locked so this could be something. Need confirmation and only takes 2 minutes

that actually does sound plausible. they mine the materials to create meta alloys, use the alloys to create a UA, and it could explain the crashed anaconda too, it may have just been passing overhead when one launched a UA and was hit.

I don't think you need a direct hit either if something like that happens.

I'm also thinking we should not use Obsidiant as the experemental station for selling meta-alloys. They are barnacle seeds and they are probably alive.

Is there any indication/thoughts on what we can or should do with Meta alloys? I seem to get 2 per barnacle spawn so far.

On second thoughts, maybe ill just jettison these out of my ship. Not getting probed in my sleep

Anyone else taking serious damage to their SRV just running across normal slightly bumpy terrain while in the vicinity of Barnacles? My SRV hull went from 100 to 62 in 1 km. The number drops each time I land off a small bounce. Would explain the mystery SRV explosions

Err, doesnt that mean it always point at the same place on the body its orbiting? Pretty sure it doesn't just sit still in space pointing at another star system...

For your collective info, these are the systems in the Crescent Nebula that were permit locked in January 3301 (a year ago).

Crescent Sector BQ-Y d24
Crescent Sector BQ-Y d25
Crescent Sector BQ-Y d26
Crescent Sector DL-Y d26
Crescent Sector DL-Y d27
Crescent Sector DL-Y d29
Crescent Sector DL-Y d30
Crescent Sector DL-Y d32
Crescent Sector FW-W d1-24
Crescent Sector FW-W d1-25
Crescent Sector FW-W d1-26
Crescent Sector HR-W d1-28
Crescent Sector HR-W d1-29
Crescent Sector IH-V c2-10
Crescent Sector IH-V c2-11
Crescent Sector KC-V c2-10
Crescent Sector KC-V c2-11
Crescent Sector MI-S b4-0

They weren't limited to being strictly within the nebulosity, some of them were on the outside edges as well.

So a couple of days and hundred pages or so I decided to head out to the Crescent Nebula to see what could be lurking behind the previously permit locked systems there. I have just flown into Crescent Sector KC-V c2-10 and...

It has already been discovered by at least 2 commanders :( So I don't know when this system was unlocked but it's not recently. That feels like quite a blow. Does anyone know if these systems were indeed locked and when they might have become unlocked?

Anyhow Stargazing Live is on soon so I'll be back to check the others after that.

Tidally locked does not help. It has to be on the pole of a planet with little axial tilt to keep pointing at the same system.

I know I shouldn't complain about the things not loading, but I can't help but be extremely disappointed that I've potentially spent many tens/hundreds of hours looking for something that doesn't exist.

If you're going to pull something like this you could at least make sure it's working before you do.

FACT

Even tidally locked planets rotate in the reference frame of background stars. So unless the barnacle is on a pivot mount like a satellite dish, it will point where ever the time of day tells it to point.

can we get the current known barnacle locations added to the first page? I am having trouble keeping track and I am refreshing the thread every minute or so.

And who do you think I am, Superman?
If you are having troubles, I'm having the same.

I will post only the ones that have been PMed to me. For now.
Thanks to the CMDRs who sent me PMs.

Anyway THERE IS NO MORSE IN THE BARNACLES SOUND.

It's working fine for the majority of people. How would they know of the specific cases of them not working without giving out the locations and testing?

They released the coordinates to a place with two barnacles now so they can test further.

I get the frustration but just understand bugs are rarely universal and testing for every situation ever is impossible since each computer is a completely different combination of hardware and software.
