Well.. except that the top end of some of them have pointed out into space. Someone a few pages back showed it pointing to a distant star system. The one on the condo planet pointed to the system star that it's not tidal locked to.

It can point at a specific point in space for a moment, but then the planet rotate and it points to another place, so it is not the thing to look at.

Re: The 'logo' on the Barnacle - the main part looks like Barnard's Loop, but the 2 blobs to the side do not. I would look for a location where 3 different nebulae form into that pattern.

Barnard's Loop is the obvious one but if you turn off all star types and routes in the Galaxy map you can have a really good look at the nebulae. The Pleiades looks more interesting than I thought before I did that.

Another candidate would be the LMC.

Just found another barnacle in pleiades sector JC-U B3-2 in 25.33658 / 25.53009

Yes, it seems to be a specified 'range' which is acceptable.
I went to the other side of the planet - oposite coords. Nothing yet.

Within some -/+40 or even as much as -/+60 long/lat seems to allow them to grow. Out of the 'origin'' wherever that is, if it's the Anaconda or not. Found 3 sites quite rapidly.
Further science required.

PS, I'm a treehugger, I leave them alone :p

All of them point out into space. ;) Go back to that star-pointing thing when its rotated 70 degrees and see if it still points at the star.

Seems pretty clear that like real barnacles, the hope of these are to be spread throughout the galaxy via us, by our transport methods.
I'm sure that is the primary way this life form hopes to re-establish itself.

Here is a nice wide angle screenshot from this morning not to long after the first discovery

Look at that, I tried to take a screenshot in the same position as the trailer, but the central pyramid still seems much bigger in the trailer ! Do you thing they changed its size to make it look more impressive in the trailer, or did we only find the small ones ?

So, in Solo to avoid the blockade and no barnacles at:

It's on MEROPE 5 C
-026.3496°
-156.4044°
0.18G

I am literally sitting on that exact spot... nothing. I'll trying logging in/out and open play.....

why not fly in in solo mode land near approx. co-ordinates, log out log into open go to coordinates, land at barnacle and then log out log in solo.

it makes sense to me that if you land at one then log to solo you should still be at it...
