Fiction Guide to the systems?

HI,

Was wondering if there are any fictional works avaliable, or becoming available, that will give a backstory to the known systems in ED?

Wouldn't mind reading up on how some of these systems came to be before the game is released.

Or are we supposed to find that out after release?

Of them all, your best bet for this is Allen Stroud's Elite: Lave Revolution. I don't know of any other story going into the history of the universe as deeply as this one.

Actually, the roleplaying game is your best bet for system and other kinds of info.

Also, the individual stories in the Tales from the Frontier anthology present several systems/locations/planets to some extent.

I'm sure Frontier will also publish some sort of system info booklet at some point.

Also, to the best of my knowledge the old Frontier: Elite 2 Gazeteer remains canonical.

As I read the various fiction, I am highlighting names of places on my Kindle.

Theoretically, I could add cross-references to some sort of wiki. Maybe there is an existing wiki I could update with this sort of information.
