Are you REALLY trying to defend the amount of content in this game?

Sure, we already have a massive amount of systems. But what of it? Do you really expect us to explore all of them before we are "allowed" new content?

Really, the point of going to another galaxy isn't because of the number of systems. Do you really think an explorers goal is to see as many systems as possible? No. It's to see new and unique sights.

When I see comments like the one you answered, i understand why there is no new content with that many peaples always justifying it with meaningless excuses like that...

I know right? I feel like it's just new players getting absorbed into the whole "BILLIONS OF SYSTEMS", "BLAZE YOUR OWN TRAIL" ruse. Most of us were like that at one point until you realize just how little there is to actually do.

It's already been said so many times, but it really is a mile wide and an inch deep.

Had the same here on a 100mb cable connection.

Direct connection to PC, no wifi link?
Mine is a 100mb cable direct & I had no problems yesterday or this morning, in Solo mode, logged out to main menu & back in 32 times to get my 64T MA with absolutely no problem. Yet a chum on teamspeak & living within 12, miles also with a good cable net connection, was getting loads of problems this afternoonwith Solo mode & had no difficulty with Open. So perhaps its the alignment of Merope 5C with Barnard's Loop! Hope everyone is logging error reports!
I did have a CTD at about 18:00 though while in Maia scanning the planets.

a few thoughts/questions, one may be old news, has anyone taken a UA to a capital ship and given it the good science run down? Federal or Imperial capships?
Also, should we be asking the devs, is there more than the barnacles and the UA's, related to this alien species, out there RIGHT NOW, that any commander can reach using conventional and practical modes of travel, in the current player reachable areas of space? Or are the barnacles the only clue to the current mystery right now in the reachable areas of space?
After seeing that excellent time lapse video of the barnie, I wonder if we are waiting for some sort of celestial alignment event where all of these barnacles will be pointing at each other or all point to a common focal point, i.e. a star or planet (a planet might be too precise though), or some other arrangement that seems planned, or mechanical?

Yeah, how about you don't?

Haha too late! I had a blast blowing up the barnacle spikes at Merope 5C. Well, to be frank I justified it as sampling. To learn about them we need to study them, right? And what better way than to extract bits of them and take those to a lab for analysis?

Also, who ever said these are thargoid-related? Let's not jump to conclusions.

:D S

How about we play a meta game with MB and devs - and declare that we are digging around a barnacle and pillars to see what's underneath. Will they play with us and add a new model for digging site, or simply place dug out things on surface of a planet? How about it?

The problem is...a different galaxy probably isn't that different apart from its potential nebulae, so you probably driving yourself towards disappointment if you think a second galaxy would add anything meaningful.

Has anyone noted the temp of the systems where the barnacles have been found?

Merope 5 C is 297K (74.93F / 23.85C) ... this is considerably cooler than any of the other planets in Merope apart from 5 A or 5 B

Do we have a "habitable" temperature range for the barnacles?

This may sound extraordinarily complex, but could someone (or a group of people) make multiple time lapse videos, all locked on to different different stars in the Pleiades to track where and what these things could possibly be pointing at? If the celestial alignment event seems like a viable theory?

Pleiades Sector JC-U B3-2, planet 1, is 379K or 222.53F / 108.85C, quite hot hahaha

And if the good fit with lmc isn't enough, this one is a lot less conform, too approximativ for me.

I don't know, the pointy arrow bit seems to fit quite well...

Just trying things out..

And the right angle bottom right seems like it'd fit (ish) too with a bit of manipulation on the viewing angle.

Jut to see, with the symbol flipped (if say viewed from the other side) and the arrow bit realigned....

Dunno but I think it's close enough to be worth looking at.

It could imply areas of the Pleiades, the clearest common marker is that triangular area, look there?

Actually the more I look at it, the more I can't help feeling Lezip may be right. :)

Please let us know which path you take through it, and how it works out for you.

Pleione 11A is 194K (some -80°C). IMO quite mild temperatures for a universe ;).
