Proposal Discussion Please add upgrade options for premium and standard beta.

I feel Frontier are missing out on revenue since people don't have the option to upgrade their purchase to the beta tiers.

I would already have upgraded my "federal trader" KS buy-in to standard beta, and would be seriously thinking about premium beta if the option was there, and I'm sure there are _many_ others who think the same. There is no loss of income, and only benefits to adding this option. I understand that somebody has to code and test the change to the store, but I'm sure the increased revenue will quickly pay for those hours of work.

It would be particularly good to have this option up by the time premium beta arrives, as people will be keen to jump in.

PS. It will of course be imperative to keep track of the kickstarter pledge level perks. Losing those would cause... Drama.

i expect they will add the same type of discount/upgrade option to the beta's once the alpha stops being sold on the 25th, if they had added it any sooner i could foresee problems with people upgrading to beta 1 then changing their minds and moaning that they no longer had a discount available to them to go all the way to alpha.

besides, with alpha getting so much coverage there being no option to upgrade to beta 1 or 2 probably gave the backers who did turn alpha that extra bit of leverage with their significant other:

but honey, if i just upgrade to beta 1 i won't get a discount - if i go all the way to alpha i get £50 off as i'm a beta 2 backer so really its only an extra £50

I would like to add to Adept that is add a feature for people who payed for family members in a My Rewards Gift 1. Like my 11 year old nephew is a pirate and I would love to get him into Beta 2.

Alpha 1 was released around 12th Dec, the Alpha upgrade was announced on 21st Jan. So maybe PB upgrades will be available after 6 weeks of Beta.

Everything in its own time. Beta premium will be more affordable (that alpha) for the upgrade, by the current backers who are not still inside

I agree with you, there is no harm adding upgrade paths to all their products early, I would of upgraded from gamma to premium beta as I had the spare money, now I might upgrade to standard beta, I think they are missing out on alot of missed opportunities.

I reckon there'll be news about this around the 25th when alpha purchases end. I'd be very surprised if they don't offer it.

I would also like to upgrade to premium beta (from normal beta). Not only because of the earlier beta access, but because of the included addon's. I already asked the support about that, but they declined.

Same boat here. I would like to upgrade from the Gamma to the Premium Beta, in large part due to expansions pass offered with it.

I'm sure they will offer the chance to do so, I just hope I don't have to wait until six weeks in.

I think that a lot of people who are not in the premium beta, will be interested when the time comes. And it will be the same for the standard beta

I think Amorelia is correct. IF FD hold to what has gone before, they will allow a period of time for original backers and purchasers to gets 'hands on' before allowing everyone else the option. I'm not certain the 6 weeks will be set in stone but at least a few weeks to a month I suspect?
When/if they do open that floodgate expect the tide to rise!
I intend on upgrading my standard beta to premium for my son and handing him the keys (providing they can reduce the connection-killing surges that currently exist with the networking model - it's improving but not acceptable, YET)

OK I may get told of for this but here goes .
It has bean confirmed to me that discounts will be offered all through the process as long as you have already bought part of the game before the GAMMA starts .
So if you get to a point were you can not wait any longer you can get a discount and upgrade your game and get in early .
I found out because I have helped an old friend buy part of the game .
