Horizons i wanna gift horizons but my friends already have main game

Uh, I'm not sure I follow, but anyway.
If you have the base game, yourself, the account discount should apply even if you are buying the game as a gift.
Otherwise you're simply paying a full price.

I would love to know why the respective ages matter in giving money to someone.
.
its about our culture. in turkey if you give him direct money like a you respect its mean " some incapabe" so i cant explain that in the strict sense sorry about that :/

I think I see what you mean.
In the UK there is no such issues. Anyone of any age can give me money!
I hope you can find an acceptable solution.

yes you right completely . but sometime you cant change something :p we have "bigodet" thinks. i dont like it but i hope it will change later :)

You can solve this situation by sending him "gift cards" (or so) through the Frontier Store. Your friend can then redeem the gift cards in the Frontier Store and will get the Horizons discount for ED: Dangerous owners, provided that he already owns the ED: Dangerous base game.

As a last resort you could ask your friend to temporarily change their account password. You could log in to their account and purchase Horizons on it. Log out, your friend changes back their password and there you go.. lol.

This requires a LOT of trust (he could loose his entire Steam collection), and is very likely against Steam terms & conditions. I'd advise anyone against it.

Also, it's effectively the same as giving someone money. So I don't really see the point.

I did mention it was a last resort, of course :). In addition, OP never mentioned any Steam accounts, so it might only concern their friends' Frontier account. Would require a lot of trust, I agree.

Gifting, giving money, sending giftcards, logging in on someone else's account to purchase the upgrade... it all boils down to the same thing: Giving someone money. So I do see the point.
