Release Trade Computer Extension Mk.II

No kidding. When something with TCE is bugged, I just play and think, this is ok, I can still play, then I miss the features while flying around and feel like part of the game is missing.

I have to agree - if I can't use TCE for any reason I usually stop playing ED apart from CQC.

I simply don't want to carry on without the added info/features that TCE makes available!

No, it is gone, because of easy drag 'n drop of panels. To size the panel, use the new three small button at the top/left corner of the panel.

I know. I am talking about the panel where you could set up your current position if i read correctly the manual.

Today, how do you setup your current position or changing it without being in a station.

I can't play ED without TCE anymore.

Now that is the silliest thing I have heard in a while. You are always playing with TCE but recently, just not in-game.
.
I find TCE adds a huge amount to the immersion in ED and I thank you for the time and effort you have put into it.
.
edit - hmmmm it seems I need to spread some around before I can rep you ...... again!
edit 2 - Doh. My Homer Simpson moment. When I read your comment I read ....Can't play ... with TCE. That is what I get for reading the forums before I have my coffee.

something a miss with the star system entry.

I added another new system and got the distances it asked for off the galaxy map, in putted these and saved.

I check the system Frigh to see if it matches with tce info but it doesnt says something like 44.58 LY away when the game says its only 15.5 LY away.

So i thought ok i will re do the star system, modify, re enter the distances TCE asks for and still it thinks im 44.58 LY from that system which is wrong, and other systems around are wrong?

Logs added and DB in case you need them.

EDIT: i noticed that one of the systems the system market was using for its LY distance was a system i had in putted and you correctly pointed out was wrong and i redid it.

So went back to the first in putted system and was met with the following?

wondering whether to instead of modifying the first system but delete it and re input it, would i have a chance it may fix the issue????

deleted the initial system and did the distances again and still no joy :(

If we've already added a station, and we go back to it. If we select Markets again and Modify, can it immediately point to the station we are at?
Then we can use the drop down to select another one if we want to change another market, or continue to modify the one we are docked at.

So Eventure, when do you start applying for a job at frontier? (If you haven't been already contacted)

I've found this app, invaluable when playing with the game, and I don't understand why this isn't already part of it.
It's natural if you want to get on in the game to record details of where you've been so you can make the most profit.
I certainly wouldn't be where I am now without it.

Strange Start Up error

Hi Eventure

Upgraded to 0.9.9.5 but got an error at start up
Startup error.jpg

Thinking it might be something to do with 0.9.9.5 I went back to 0.9.9.4 as this had been OK. However I got the same error with this.

The last addition I made under 0.9.9.4 was to add a POI location as you described in a previous post. Thinking this may be corrupt in some way i deleted the entry from the public_Log table and tried again. Same error but I noticed that the entry in the public_Log table had reappeared. Thinking that I must not have deleted it properly the first time and I tried again and double checked to make sure - definitely deleted.

Starting TCE again produced the same error again and guess what? The entry was back in the table - but I noticed this time that the time field was within the last couple of minutes so starting TCE had resulted in this entry being re-added!!!

I just can't figure out what is happening - if I deleted an entry where is TCE getting the deleted data from, is there some backup?

My Db file is here

Thanks

Modifying your DB should always be undertaken carefully, very carefully. As many ID's are interlinked and not understanding where they are interlinked can cause issues.

Yes there is a backup, but it's not used automatically when you start TCE. It's located in the same TCE directory under, guess what it's called BACKUP, :p

So if you do want to edit your db, compare it with a previously working version.

I tentatively edit my DB, and I've had a year of ACCESS to contend with, lol. Or I'm just a slow learner.

Hello everybody,

I am a new Player at ED and this is my first post at these forums xD! Didnt expect it would be such a technical one (-_-)

I got this error message, when trying to start OCR0.8 via TCE MKII

Manually OCR0.8 is working fine, is there another method to import OCR data to TCE, than running it via TCE?

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Best wishes for the DEV of these tools, bye.

Problem with the Database/market/modify function.

When I click on database/market/modify button, then click on the drop down arrow for the market name, focus shifts to the planet ID. If I then click on planet ID drop down arrow, I get a list of markets. Just to see what would happen, I chose one of the markets, and it appears the data gets jumbled (see pic). I just clicked hide after that because I didn't want to mess anything up.

I absolutely agree - TCE fills in the prominent missing parts of E-D so well, I dread playing without it!

THREE MINOR ISSUES:

WAYPOINTS Panel is blank and the SUMMARY Panel has two titles, All three panels as can be seen in the screen shot are positioned at the bottom of the screen, but the SUMMARY Panel displays two name tabs.

Light seconds sometimes showing strange characters.

After restarting TCE it's fine.

Sometimes when going to DATABASE/STATIONS for a REGISTERED STATION, the station isn't pre-selected even though it's been detected as my CURRENT POSITION

It is no longer possible to select your current position, because TCE takes care about. It reads your actual netlog file for the session and showing your position at the position display.

You made a mistake by selecting a reference star system far too close to the star system, you like to triangulate. The entered distances should be more that 200 LYs away to get a better accuracy of the results. Why did you exchanged the SOL system as a reference?

Your stored locations are bound to your logbook. Will check your database later, but deleting it externally could result in that behavior.

It came up with the error BEFORE I did anything with the database externally. I only deleted the entry afterwards to see if it made any difference to the error which it didn't.

As far as I could see the entry in the public_Log table was not linked in any way to any other entry/table. :(

I need your last working backup, to check your issue.

The Logbook table is connected to the star system, market and stored location table because their IDs are stored within the logbook entry. If you delete an ID from the star system, market or stored location table, the logbook entry have to be updated too. Without, TCE will check IDs, which are no longer present. Then it breaks.

But the problem you have is the IDs is not coherent with the number of entries you have at the logbook. With TCE Mk.I, your are able to delete entries, which is no longer allowed in Mk.II. The missing ID entries have to be corrected by TCE and that is done at loading. So I need your last backup to recreate the issue.

You can also reimport your old Mk.I database with the actual version and TCE repairs the logbook automatically.

@EliteOCR was updated by Otis B. Thank you. Don't forget to adapt the folder path, because it is installed to c:\Programs(x86) folder by default. Check it out: http://sourceforge.net/projects/eliteocr/

i didnt change it, thats what the program picked?

also my next question was going to be why is sol not in my list of systems?
