Proposal Discussion Alliance Systems

I have been trying to find information about the Alliance systems that were in the older versions of Elite .
Do we know if they will be in Elite Dangerous as well to add the full Immersion effect we are all becoming to expect .
i.e not just too large power base systems factions but I large number of non aliened systems and planets that formed the Alliance .
Maybe if we discus it we can add some ideas to the game unless I missed it and it has already been discussed .

Alliance is there. I'm even wearing their logo on my cap in my avatar picture. In short, there will be

- Federation (USA)
- Empire (Rome)
- Alliance (EU)
- lots of non-allied systems and worlds

You might be interested in my FE2 and FFE maps just use the link in my signature. Don't forget to click on them to download the real size version. That may give you an idea about what ed will be like though it won't be flat anymore and many more real systems will be present at their correct position(so a lot of old generated one will disapear). So achernar sol and alioth will be more or less aligned but if achernar is now much "higher" than sol and the galactic plan, alioth should go "down".

I wouldn't rely on the old maps too much, the major systems are still present, but the star locations are more accurate and that changes the shape of the political zones quite a bit.

Actually in A4, without a sneak peek spoiler, will be most pants wettingly good.

I hope it comes with alpha 4 but we may only get a temporary and tiny starmap with the only purpose of fleshing out the alpha and giving us some destinations to jump to... the real one could come much later if FD so wishes.

yep, I think it will be a small number of systems.

I wonder if the entire map will be open in Beta, it should be right?

I imagine it will gradually open up over the length of Beta but i'm just speculating.

Also, even after the gamma release, some places,far off places will still be off limits as these will be used for added content and story lines etc.

Won't be until beta I recon. Starmap implies more than just a core test - which is what the alpha's are.

Ok cool just that every one just keeps saying Federation or Empire thanks for all the replies so maybe Han Solo is part of the Alliance worlds or non-allied systems .

By my reading, this means the galaxy is far bigger than the old maps would suggest - right?

I'm am an explorer at heart, so for me bigger is definately better.
