I think the LMC looks like Mushu!

Glad to read that, the amount of MA needed for tier1 was just insane. But even now, tier 1 is only achievable if a lot of people keep relog farming the heck out of the same barnacles over and over again. Pretty bad mechanic. But at least it looks like there's gonna be some kind of reward for those that farmed!
Without re-logging I just collected an extra 12t from B3-2 2 and 1 in less than 2hrs. The three sites in 2, in the crater within the massive crater, were very close together. Two of them were visible from each other on the ground, and I was able to drive to both after landing! The third I found after a little bit of flying.
14t total (awful I know, but game time limited) puts me at top 60%.
I now have a top secret mission to carry out for Dr Arc.
Actually I think it's pretty sad that people who farm like that get rewarded tho'.. It's basically abusing game mechanics to make tons of profit.
Is the respawn just game mechanics, or an intended function of the Barnacles?
I've got 40T in the hold so I'll likely top that up to the full 72T that I can carry but I think that's all I can bear to do of this broken mechanic.
I'd like to look for more barnacles but the spawning issue is very disheartening and putting me off playing at all at the moment.
I think the way some people use the relogging is not an intended function, but I know they do respawn, just not sure how much time it takes. But there do not seem to be enough people around to get the alloys for a high rank community goal and the known locations are limited, so far only found them on 3 planets with help of coordinates.
My luck today I think was connected with the Canonn private group being basically empty. So, my instance was managing all the spawns and it was working fine. The suggestion is that all of these alternative barnies in similar locations are intended to spawn at the same time, but there might be a server or client issue when there are multiple players sharing servers that's causing it to bork.
Can't explain the solo issue though.
I'm sure FD can. Hopefully it'll be addressed in the forthcoming patch trailed by MB in the dev update.
I know others have already commented on this but I cant get over how similar these two things are.... they must mean something. They are so close. One from the side of the barnacle and the other is a nebulae..same same? :SView attachment 98065View attachment 98066
For me it's the other way around. If there are other people around, I always get the barny spawn. Yesterday I was all alone in both Canonn and Open. I tried all modes and re-starts and did not get a spawn.
I'm fairly sure that there is no difference between the game modes, except for how you get instanced. If you are instanced with other people, you will get data from them as well as from the server. That way the chance of spawn increases.
I was in debug cam looking at a barnacle on Pleiades Sector JC-U b3-2 2 (the one at 49.06, 102.93 specifically) and noticed that the light that the barnacle emits along the ground only shines out in four directions. This one is aligned pretty much N/S as well (N is directly upwards in this image), although I understand that they are oriented in various directions I lined it up for reference against others.
Not sure what to make of the light and whether it's relevant or not but thought I'd bring it up here in case it helps the way anyone else is thinking at the moment, and it looks pretty

Anyway, you just have to overlay the symbol on top of anything really and it looks similar.
Well, FYI, I've played all the past evening in solo, and the Barnacles have spawned EVERY TIME.
I was able to grab 72T of Meta-Alloys while staying in Solo all the time. It means I've relogged 36 times with no issues...
Now I see why we are close to tier 1. Pot and Kettle lol
