Hi Commanders.
This is the sparkling all new FAQ for Beta backers.
Here you can find the most commonly asked questions in the forums.

Loading problems.
- If you have any queries on getting the game started there are a couple of places you can look to see if your problem has occurred before and if there is a solution. If you don't see your problem your 1st port of call is to log a ticket via the ticketing system which can be found in the launcher or Elite Online Ticketing System.
- To raise a ticket via the launcher, click on the Technical support button in the launcher which will open a page on your browser where you can log in. Once logged in you can view any existing tickets by clicking the my tickets tab. To raise a new ticket click the new ticket tab and you will get a pop up screen with the current issues, have a look to see if your issue has already been raised. If it has you don't need to raise a new ticket. If you don't see your issue you can raise a new ticket by filling out the form. The FD staff will look into it and may contact you for additional information.
- Always make sure you have the Latest Drivers for your graphics card and ensure your router is allowing the game to get past its firewall, info in this can be found in the multiplayer connection help thread.

- FD Announces when this is available to do so, keep an eye on teh forum for official announcments.
- Currently this is set at 3 per account. Sandro has stated this is not set in stone and can change.
So, current thinking is to have a small number of characters available per account. Say perhaps three normal characters. These can be "normal" commanders or "perma-death" commanders. Only one could ever be active "in-game" at a time and there would be no concept of links between them (so no shared stash, or reputation ties or any such stuff).
- This is currently being worked on with updates to joystick compatibility continually being rolled out. The Joystick Discussion thread is also be a good place to find info in whats happening. The Joystick/Controller discussion thread
- Michael Brookes informs the forum when a new build is available, Please don't start any new threads asking when the next update or stage of the game is going to arrive, if you want to speculate, post in the current update announcement thread.
- If you are having a problem with hardware we do also have a fantastic section on the forum discussing many aspects of hardware and associated issues. You can find it from the front page of the forum or click on the link -> Hardware & Technical Forum. Your question might have been asked already.
- You can see your current FPS in the Alpha by using the Ctrl and F buttons together which will show them in the top left corner of the game.
- Optimisation of the game is a ongoing process throuought the development and FD are continually improving FPS.
- If you find this file is missing when trying to launch the game initially there is a fix. This is not Alpha/Beta issue but a DirectX issue. It's a DirectX dll file and running the "DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer" from Microsoft solves the issue.
- Direct X 11 Quad Core CPU (4 x 2Ghz is a reasonable minimum)2 GB System Ram (more is always better)
DX 10 hardware GPU, 1GB video RAM
- In the current stage this is not possible. There is a discussion and proposals by FD on how this will be implemented ingame here Elite Dangerous - Communication Interaction. this will be avaliable soon.
- There are unofficial teamspeak groups on the forum for anyone wishing to explore communicating in game.
