Is there a reason why the client has a default install path to the c: with no way to change it?

(unless I totally missed the part where I could specify)

I could select the path for the down-loader.

Here are some instructions for installing ED to your preferred drive and folder. I have tested and verified this works a few times now.

Kudos to TheDarkKnight for the easier and refined version. I have edited the OP so his instructions are on the main post.

Run the Client-Installer.exe

Choose the drive and or folder you wish to use. In my case D:\Elite

Let the launcher install finish, if it is running, close the launcher window, do not login

Navigate to where you installed the launcher, in my case D:\Elite, and create a folder called Products in the launcher folder. EG: - D:\Elite\Products

Now start the launcher again, log in and install the client.

When the download is complete you should see the install as automatically installed the client in the folder you created called Product.

This workaround will hopefully only be short lived. I am sure FD will get us an updated client installer than restores the option to chose your ED install location.

If you have another drive that you want to move it to you can use Steam mover LINK

I got the downloader i think, but will wait until the worst hype have settled down in a day or 2 before i download to be sure it will download fast and painless.

Download for me was fast and painless.

Allowed me to install it where I wanted to.

Works.

Just need to adjust the nut between the controls and the seat and we should be all set!

Ehhhhhh? They get gamma on release exactly what they paid for. No more no less.

I really don't see what you have to gripe about. From what I can't tell FD have pretty much done what you asked for and still you are not happy. Seems you are just mad for the sake of being mad. Did DB run over your cat or something?

A couple of questions:

1) would it be worth starting a new thread for impressions/discussion for Beta Premium members while we have the single player; lots I'd like to discuss/ask about/share experiences, but clearly it's not particularly of interest to FD and we don't have access to the Alpha forums. In fact I don't have access to backer forums either (is that an early pledge thing)?

2)quick thing, sure been answered before, but can't find and dont' want to start new thread. Why does the forum keep changing colour?
