Apologies if people think that this isn't quite a Space/SciFi game - it's steampunk crafting set in a single "floating worlds" persistent universe open for exploration/pillage etc.

Technically it's interesting for its use of Improbable's SpatialOS, although the devs admit that they may have to "instance" EU and US players separately to avoid lag. The game is at the invitation-only alpha stage at the moment, but signing up to the forum gives you a foot in the door for participation in later alphas and, presumably, beta. Interestingly enough prospective players are already debating piracy/griefing in the forum and trying to set out a code of conduct that will clearly differentiate a pirate from a "bandit".
