The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt

Best mini game ever made. I'd love to get that real set. Does it give you a full set of cards for each faction roots?

Gwent was one of the things I *didn't* like about TW3 - felt too modern (especially with the nice printed artwork on the cards). The original dice poker game had more of an 'authentic' flavour to it. Mind you I have to try really hard to think of things I didn't like about the TW3. :D

I was like that with gwent also i pretty much avoided it on the first playthrough then i read a few tips on it and loved it. I figure you know how to play it though and you just plain dont like it :)

Just so you are aware, there's a ton of card games out there and alternatives and such that are hundreds of years old, and probably more then we know have existed and become lost, so yeah..

Yeah - I can play (I quite like the default Northern Deck), I just think the Dice Poker game was better. :)

I'm aware that playing cards have been around for ages (China IIRC), but my problem with Gwent is that it looks like a modern, MtG-style card game, and uses actual 'living' characters. If it had used abstract designs more 'in keeping' with the rest of the game art (e.g. the posters), and not full-colour 'printed' cards, I think it would have blended in better. Subjective opinion, but... :)
.
Oh - I also dislike that it's ubiquitous. Geralt sounds like a crack addict asking for a Gwent fix to every NPC in the game. So much so that UK PC Gamer did a parody story in which Geralt rescues a lord's son form the evils of the 'curse' of the game by stealing his cards and taking the 'curse' on himself. :D

I got 2 full decks - Monsters and Scoia'tael. I may hunt for the other 2, I'm sure they'll be for sale somewhere :)

Are they official CDProject cards? Or just enthusiastic private makers?

If the latter I'm surprised CDProject haven't marketed gwent proper it would be a good seller I think if they could change a few things to get around the fact that everyone would have full decks.

I think they were an extra with the boxed version of Hearts of Gold? (Game exclusive in the UK according to 'The Metro' :D

Yeah, they're official ones, made by Jinx. They were extra for the console version. PC owners of LEP could enter a special code on Jinx website and get the cards for $7. The number was limited and it was first come first serve basis AFAIK.

Well just finished the Hearts of Stone DLC. The devs say 10 hours but I probably got 15 out of it. More than some full games I've played. This was an excellent DLC, easily as good if not better than the main game. Great story very very well told and a true pleasure to play.

Apparently the next DLC "blood and wine" has been reported to be even better. CDProject have said unashamedly that is is their best piece of work yet. I have learned that they promise a lot...the nice touch is that they deliver on the promises every time. So I'm majorly looking forward to this. Sad in another way though as it's Geralts last quest. What's going to happen....

Anything that starts with meeting a morally-dubious guy at some crossroads at midnight gets my vote. Really looking forward to 'Blood and Wine'.

Just finished the main game this week but not started the dlc. One of the best games I've played and I've been gaming since like 85 lol

Totally ruined me on rpgs as I doubt much else can compete with W3's scale, it makes Skyrim look tiny by comparison (I still enjoyed skyrim and had way more time out of it thought).

Will get the season pass when I can afford it and will definitely give it another play through next year :)

Aye distance do yourself a massive favour and buy the season pass. As I said I Felt playing hearts of stone was actually better than the main game in terms of story. I think you'll probably get the season pass quite cheaply at the moment and all.

And yeah this game has utterly destroyed my opinions of other games now. I judge everything by it now damn it all.

Yeah I'm definitely on it, probably next week lol. I did everything except the lvl 48 archgriffin on that skellige island but I'm sure I've missed a few things still.

I really want to marathon all 3 games again as I lost my original w1 and 2 saves in a hd crash, it's just finding the time :)

Didn't they say that they will not make more DLC's for the witcher? if there ever will be a number 4 in the series we will probably have to wait for it. My next game in RPG series will be Kingdom come, it really looks good and I can't wait for the gold release.

Yeah. The last DLC is blood and wine. As I said it's also Geralts last adventure. CDProject have said that it isn't the last full game in the witcher universe so read from that what you can...my bet is that they will revive one of the witcher schools and make a new journey there for a character, it seems a natural extension to the witcher universe seeing as none of the schools have trained anyone from scratch for a very long time.

Then there's the very special project on their list ...cyberpunk 2077. Really very excited for this. Very little detail on it at all but augmented humans...dystopian future...remind anyone of a other game in the same sort of vein? There's a + rep for the first person to say the game...:)

Nothing perchance to do with the continuing adventures of Adam Jensen as he struggles to keep continuity with his elder, and more augmented brothers? ;)
.
Played the original PnP Cyberpunk 2077 back in the day, and wrote software to do character creation using the rules on the Atari ST. :) *Edit* got interdicted in the middle of this post - Hate Federal Gunships! Anyway if CP2077 is as good as TW3 and as cheesy '80s-tastic as the original source game, should be great. <Wanders off to read this month's issue of 'Solo of Fortune'.>

It was 2020 ;)

CDPR made it 2077, as 2020 is too close to be realistic. I am also awaiting that! If the world's not gonna go to hell by then, we're in for helluva treat :)
