Only thing I don't really care for about that pic is that the distinction between thin lines and thick lines is very important, and much easier to distinguish at a glance than subtle differences in positioning in the scanner. I feel that this image oversimplifies the differences between the "two bar" wave signals by omitting their thickness, and that will confuse as much as it helps.
Knowing that the Metallic Meteorite signals are thick lines like the Mesosiderite rather than thin lines like the outcrops makes them instantly recognizable, and with that knowledge you can focus purely on the "one or two thick lines near the bottom" signals for the best mats from those two node types, and easily pick them out even when there are multiple overlapping signals, or a Bronzite signal obfuscating them.
