Only thing I don't really care for about that pic is that the distinction between thin lines and thick lines is very important, and much easier to distinguish at a glance than subtle differences in positioning in the scanner. I feel that this image oversimplifies the differences between the "two bar" wave signals by omitting their thickness, and that will confuse as much as it helps.

Knowing that the Metallic Meteorite signals are thick lines like the Mesosiderite rather than thin lines like the outcrops makes them instantly recognizable, and with that knowledge you can focus purely on the "one or two thick lines near the bottom" signals for the best mats from those two node types, and easily pick them out even when there are multiple overlapping signals, or a Bronzite signal obfuscating them.

Ugh, sry, I will remove it. No mistery, Baroness Galaxy gave it to me and for MY FAULT i didn't understand it was private yet. I think it's a very good guide to share, but no worries, it's vanished!.

It's ok, no harm done. :D

It's just not finished yet, that's all. I guess now that the word is out...we have a prospecting guide in the works and will be posting it before the Q&A on Saturday. Stay tuned :)

You are absolutly right, but for an easy initial understanding it's good, then of course field experience is needed to dig out the real thing. The guide in OP is really basic to get you started.

Finally found a system worth reporting

46.23 ly from CL PISMIS 2
NGC 6357 SECTOR DB-X C1-41
G
3 HMC (2.23g) (87LS)
Yttrium, Cadmium, Niobium, Vanadium

I need Polonium and Nobium though. still looking.

SUP Svenno, a blue system!!!! Repped and put in the list.

List is up to date, after a long war between me and the forum formatting system. Wizardry has been necessary, and also RECOLOURING all the mats wich took an hour. Exausted, I go to sleep victorious.

Found a system you might want to check when you get out here: Vegnuae YB-W c18-12
21 planets/moons to land on
7 ringed planets
and 1 asteroid belt.

Might be able to find some stuff here.

+1 virtual rep!

Once we have reference systems I'll update The Monster with them to get good distances for Stage 2. I'm also now ignoring J1 only systems when dumping from it. There are plenty of those around. Only J2, J3 and Y or P + from now on :)

Ok, you can start to toss stones at me, I'm shielded.

THERE WILL BE NO MORE REFERENCE SYSTEMS GIVEN IN ADVANCE.
WHEN ERIMUS WILL ANNOUNCE NEXT WP PRECISE LOCATION, THAT WILL BECOME THE REFERENCE SYSTEM.
FOR EVERYBODY THAT WANTS TO GO AHEAD, THE FLEET DISENCOURAGES THAT.

So for example if you want to know where to prospect for WP06, you have to wait Erimus announcement.
ORC the same goes here, in Trello and for Spreadsheet.

The decision came from the need to keep the fleet together in later stages of the expedition where it will be more difficult. Also some WP are around a specific system, there are not fancy nebulae everywhere, and I bet that you wouldn't like to have every area around every poi already tagged to the bone by non-expedition snipers that use cheats to make 100LY jump, go there, tag everything, and cheat their way back to the bubble.

Everybody that want to go ahead it's on her own, they can guess where to prospect, but there will be no list to put data too.

If you are with decision bash me and not Erimus please, he is already busy with many other stuff to the point his mail box gets filled every day.

Still can't give rep yet. Another virtual +1!

I think this is a great idea! This way we'll have accurate distances to every waypoint from now on, not just a guess. Brilliant! :D

It will also give the hundred or so cartographers travelling with the bulk of the fleet a chance to add meaningful data, instead of seeing stuff being prospected and mapped a week, or weeks even, before they even reach those areas. I've had a lot of PMs from cartographers and prospectors concerned about that, so this should at least give them a piece of the pie.

I can't understand the logic here....Im doing this trip cos the furthest Iv gone to is Sag A* & Im hoping to pick up enough jump mats to continue after Beagle Point & not just come straight home to sell any potential 'virgin systems' Iv found on the way.
I don't care about other cheaters that may claim any interesting systems through 'non game' means....the chances are that someone will return to sell their system data before I sell the same. Im not doing it for that.

Iv been in WP5 for 2 days now, but really thats only because of my love for the game & the vast amount of time that I can spend playing Horizons.
Whilst it may be frustrating not knowing where to go to the next WP until 2 days before the fleet arrives, it gives me time to explore the region.

I would advise any DW explorers to go to each of the CL PISMIS systems in this area...I thoroughly enjoyed exploring these areas & picked up the odd jump mat items in these systems.

I'll probably move on to the WP6 area before the WP5 meet, mainly because when I tried to land @ WP4 at the designated time the game continually landed me about 2-3 KM above the ground! I got bored with this issue so gave up & moved on.

I don't mind being ahead of the fleet & if I find any interesting systems of jump mat finds then I'll report to the community.

Thank you, virtual rep, going to put them tomorrow afternoon.

Another system from the Rock-Rats

This turns out to have everything EXCEPT polonium.

The waypoint-system could turn out to be green, too. There is only polonium missing with the VR not having been found on 3 planets due to the reluctance of the RNG-Gods to spawn MMs yesterday. Will try again today.

Got a distance for Eagle Sector IR-W d1-105 A 3 A: 13.27ly

IGNORE THAT

What I meant to say before I had any coffee this morning is got an arrival point for Eagle Sector IR-W d1-105 A 3 A: 1,518.66ls
