Hey, I posted this in the wrong thread previously sorry!

I've been hearing some strange noises at waypoint 5 and I wanted to check if anyone knows more. Are they normal sounds? Or are they specific to the planet as I only noticed them upon landing at the waypoint(one other cmdr there confirmed he was hearing them too)?

I made this thread to discuss it - I'd love to hear your feedback! https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=228106

I started a thread with your video in the explorer forums here

And people are investigating. Confirming where the sounds can be heard.

Just arrived at waypoint 5, really nice place here. Sauna is warming up and beer is cold. Yes, i have a sauna in my Python, after all, im from Finland. :)

In other news, I found the smallest piece of metal I've come across, just 179 km radius.
Do you reckon that if enough of the expedition land there they could either change its gravity or remove enough of its raw materials to change it.

Actually can you land in something that small?

Tried landing on a very very large rock in a planetary ring last night, I could only get a 1mtr hover at best.

Maybe if we line up and gun it, we can push it out of orbit.

Theres actually something strange in this base camp, it duplicated my ship!!

I wrote this a while back, but I figure it may become appropriate for many as we progress

Into the void

I must go once more into the void
into the eternal night
A myriad dots in the quiet blackness
Cold and hard, diamond light.

Twinkle twinkle little star,
but not out here;
not where we are.
Here amongst the whispering spheres,
who's song's not meant for human ears
A siren's call, to a deadly embrace,
the last adventure,
an endless sleep

As the Crow Flies
A String of Commanders tore across the skies, all heading for base camp one. Little thought was given to their final destination.
Commander Ziggy Stardust joked 'Are we there yet'? Effectively summing up the lighthearted mood of the fleet.
Over the comms a young commander could be heard screaming '1/65th boys, 1/65th' To which many whoop whoops could be heard.
A sage confident voice cut through the cheers, 'As the crow flies commanders, as the crow flies'.

Take-off from base camp one was somewhat subdued after news filtered through an hour before take-off that Cmdr Rikk had downed his ship attempting to land on a 3g world.

The sage Commander from earlier came across the comms '1/130th boys, 1/130th, suit-up, buckle-up we're explorers. We don't follow crows'.

Very quickly: what kind of range are people getting out of their 'condas now? I've put together a package that does 33LY unladen. Is that about reasonable? (can't find the discussion on builds at the moment)

http://www.edshipyard.com/#/L=706,,2-7_Ba9Y8S9YD88I,53c7Um0AA0PAmpU1LU1LU5f62UI2jwm slight tweak gives 34LY

37ly unladen. You need 34 -35 for Beagle without jumponium

I have 8 limpets for emergencies later which bring it down to 36.5 at the mo.

The ship eats light years up.
