Title: Alliance Corporation Launches Exploration Programme
When: Not time sensitive
Where: Lave, Gateway, Alioth and Wolf 406
The Dumbbell Nebula, also known as Messier 27, is the new target of an ambitious Alliance exploration programme. The Wolf 406 Transport & Co corporation publicly launched earlier this month an initiative to survey every astronomical body around this nebula. In order to swiftly complete the mapping of nearly 9000 star systems, the Wolf 406 Transport & Co is enlisting the help of experienced independent explorers to work alongside pilots from the Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps (AEDC).
The First Merchantress of Wolf 406 Transport & Co, Victoria Wolf VI, explained the choice of the Dumbbell Nebula in an official press release: “It has been more than one and a half millennium since the Dumbbell Nebula was first seen by human eyes, thanks to Charles Messier; yet it still remains uncharted territory despite being within the reach of modern technology.”
Independent pilots wishing to participate in this exploration programme are invited to coordinate directly with representatives of the AEDC.

This news story should be relevant to explorers friendly to the Alliance, and I believe it should be posted in Lave, Gateway, Alioth and Wolf 406. This story should be clear enough so that people interested to participate will look for the Alliance Elite Diplomatic Corps on google. In any case, I feel like it's at the very least an interesting story that spotlights an active part of the Alliance community!
Objectively, it is quite an challenge to map an entire nebula, and keep notes while doing it! While the main goal of the programme seems to be the discovery of earth-like planets for the Alliance, it is effectively a non-biased survey of several thousand stars and countless planetary bodies. There's science to be done here, and the physicist in me is excited to see what the results are going to look like!
