Was messing about in the galaxy map and found this little guy - there is literally nothing anywhere around it for hundreds of LY....feel sorry for him

HD stars are from a real and confirmed list, so they were just put to their astronomically pinpointed position. Same goes for Cygni X-3.

What if he is happy to be alone?
What if one of the oolest race in the entire galaxy inbahits him?

he may not be as lonely as you think.
