That might be interesting, but I requested a subforum here instead. I think the conversation should be shared among all equals and we should have an equal voice to the powers. It would give us organization and those who oppose us would like it too. More freedom. Everyone would win, right?

You might be right. Time will tell. It might depend on what's being offered in return. Freedom from tyranny for a system and I'll be the target of the do gooders. This too could fail. This isn't very important to me, so it serves well as a test. If it fails, I can always go back and hunt from the shadows. It's all good.

The part about fostering a misconception is important, if the intent is to deceive then it is a lie regardless of the method used.
That said I wasn't trying to troll. My objection is less with AntiFed and more with using Spock an a source of wisdom, especially considering the quote was factually and morally wrong.

He's not trolling. Lie by omission is a thing. We are also talking about something which holds true regardless of language so your last statement there is a conclusion that cannot be reasonably drawn from your previous argument (even if it had been correct).
