I am continually amazed at how ungrateful some are. This is a gesture of goodwill from FD for the inconvenience caused by an unexpected event. Be thankful. How many other gaming organisations do this for their player base? Not many.
World of Warships for example hold themselves out there as a "free to play" game yet are geared up to suck your $$ at every turn, and dont communicate well at all.
Well done and thank you FD.
Sorry to disagree, but some people will view unexpected downtime, unless it was a DOS attack, to be due to a fault that FD could have avoided in some way.
The same people will see it as FD not allowing them to use their product, which they pay rather handsomely for, and so feel aggrieved that some members of the community were compensated for their loss of game time, while others were not, regardless of whether there were missions attached to their reduced game time.
As I said in another post here a free paint job, perhaps would have been a better form of compensation.
I tend to trade and I wasn't playing during the outage time so it is of no consequence to me, but I feel if FD intend to grant compensation in some form, the gesture is better served making an offer that is available to all. They could make it a downloadable digital product that would need to be claimed by a certain time from your download page. Then those who wanted to take advantage of the offer could, and those who felt they were owed nothing from FD could let the download expire without downloading.
20%extra value on scans for explorers?
So was the bonus weekend pulled? Or is 16hrs the new length of weekends?
I guess once Frontier notices how much anger their 20% bonus sparks, they'll think again next time.
give some people free pizza and they'll complain about the toppings
