Unidentified Spacecraft "S6: 7".

Scouting party in a ship mimicking human ones? Sign me up. We *know* we will get Thargoid ships. We will see thargoids themselves too. In a future, maybe Season 3 (most likely ships). However, as part of the story this news drop got me excited.

Scared - you wait till you are all alone facing a Thargoid mother ship...

Time to put a request in for save games. That's what I used to do, engage Thargoid and back to save if it didn't work.

Well now that "anyone" can be a Thargoid, maybe people will stop suspecting me.:D:mad::D:rolleyes:

I thought you were a cylon, or is that the joke?
EDIT: guess it was, considering the Baltar references.
*~* I've got cylons on my radio, let the air waves flow *~*

I take it everyone is ready for the 'Nerf the Alien copies of our ships' thread...

That said though, knowing the task of creating a whole new alien race and equivalent ships (Seeing as this game is all about balance) then using models already created is a bit... well... poop?

I would suggest a better and more hopeful outcome is a Human flying a ship built from Meta-Alloy - Lighter - Faster...

This ^^^

It's a little tease of other oddness in what we all know is a big build up to Thargoids and possibly other alien contact. I don't think the people speculating a cop-out with Thargoids commanding current ships are correct. The long UA/barnacle build-up shows that there has been a lot of thought put in.

I'm enjoying the ride, and loving all these extra little twists and turns.

Hm, we'll soon get some kind of Avatars with the character creation, right?

"S6 : 7" sounds suspiciously like a plot. Clone Series 6, Model : 7. Seven.

We welcome our new Alien overlords - oh, please do bring all 7 Sisters if you wish :D

If our first encounter with aliens is going to be them in modified versions of our ships, all I can say is I will be disappointed and so will a lot of others.

Unless they'll have alien ships right around the corner then there's going to be some burning.

No one wants to be interacting with aliens who are in copied/modified human ships for the rest of this year and beyond.

I'm really hoping these suspicious ships belong to a secret human organisation not aliens, INRA comes to mind. Personally, I think this seems more of a plausible explanation.

So here's how I've imagined the whole Thargoids thing is gonna work.
Thargoids used the UA to scan our ships and gather info about our technology. Now that they've gathered the info they needed they are replicating our ships in order to scout the bubble and see how well we are prepared for an attack.A year from now systems in the rear of the human inhabited space will suddendly start to go silent.Zachary Hudson(or whoever is in charge of those systems) will lock them and he'll send a scout team to see what happened.A week later Zachary announces that the team he sent has gone missing. So a CG is created to go and search these systems.Players will go there only to find a huge Thargoid Armada waiting for them.Their ships will be so powerful that only a few pilots will live to tell what they saw.Zachary Hudson gathers the Federal Navy and plans an attack on the thargoids. Not knowing what he's dealing with he loses the battle and a huge part of the federal navy is destroyed. After that he contacts the Empire/Alliance and asks for their aid.Together they go once again to fight the alien threat. But when the battle was about to begin it is revealed that the political figures of the Empire/Alliance are actually Thargoids in disguise. They betray Zachary Hudson and he once again loses the battle.Desperate to push the thargoid threat back and reclaim the lost systems he asks for all the support he can get and assembles the biggest Fleet in human history.Scientists all over the human bubble analyse destroyed thargoid crafts and are able to partially use their technology to create more advanced weapons.Every pilot arms their ship with these new weapons and meets with the Human Alliance Fleet(that's how they're gonna call it) in order to defeat the thargoids for good.A gigantic battle involving players and thargoids ensues. We are victorious.Weeks and countless battles later we recover all the systems we've lost and we sign a peace treaty with the thargoids allowing us to visit their systems and harvest their technology.

Probably testing of the new military drive systems.

Sounds very plausible , with the ship designation SI - 6 (possibly sirius) and the recent developements with the antares its a very reasonable assumption.

The only issue would be why scan the station if its only a drive test? .. hmm very interesting.

Technically an Unidentified Pilot. As clearly it is stated that the spacecraft was a DBX, so it is Not a Unidentified Spacecraft.

Strange things are afoot at Obsidian Orbital, according to the latest Galnet report.

s06e07 of stargate, there's a quote:

"I wish you could see what I've seen. I have actually been onboard a <thargoid> mothership. I've seen their destructive power! They can park in orbit, and systematically annihilate every major city on our entire planet, regardless of who's <federation> or <empire>! To them we're all just potential slaves!"

"The <thargoids> haven't been here for a thousand years, what makes you think they would come back now?"

"<meta-alloys> are a derivative of <unknown>, which is the very basis of their technology. It's literally in their blood- They can smell it. If you continue using it, I guarantee you, eventually they will take notice."

---------

"I never meant for it to turn out this way. We were scientists; we thought that we were pursuing knowledge... We had no idea what we were creating."

Very good point. The plot thickens then....
