One has to place volumes in cubic measurements. Could be a sphere. Could be a cube, could be a wibbly-wobbly-timey-wimey thing.
Indeed one does - 200 cubic light years would be a cube with a side length of approximately 5.85 LY, a sphere with a diameter of approximately 7.25 LY in diameter or even an ellipsoid approximately 8 LY x 3 LY x 2 LY.
