Can't Play My Premium Beta :(

I hit "Play", a window launches, and then the whole screen goes black for 5 seconds or so, and then it crashes.
Looks like a problem with the intro videos. Or your AVG trying to ask if it should allow E: D client to access the Net.

Thinking of what else might cause your problem
- GFX drivers, which version do you use?
- Nvidia Control Panel settings, like threaded optimization or single/multiple monitors or scaling options?
Getting a bit far-fetched, but who knows, sometimes this stuff just goes weird...

I use the latest drivers always. Do you think it's worth trying out beta drivers?

Also checked everything in the nvidia control panel, and it's all default settings.

Firewall is completely disabled, antivirus program is closed and hasn't quarantined any game files either.

Wish there was a better way to go about fixing these things, I know the game's in the late alpha stages but i'm pretty surprised that it won't even launch. I'd definitely expect gameplay bugs all over the place, but it's a bit worrying to me that so many people are having problems just launching the thing.

I have the crash report file, but don't know how to read it (just opened it in notepad). Is anyone here familiar with them by chance?

what vga what driver? beta driver?
screen capture sw like fraps obs?

everything okay with video codecs on ur pc?

virus scanner?

do other games run?

Virus scanner and firewall are disabled, video codecs are totally fine, no screen capture software, latest nvidia driver. Nothing that stands out as odd.

Do you have a second monitor attached, I think this caused problems for one or 2 on first launch so make sure its disabled in the options.

Try the 377.50 nvidia driver. Its a beta but Iv e had no problems.

I did, unplugged and restarted with the same issues. :/

I'll try the beta driver and see if it helps - thanks!

Using the new driver I have the same issue. New development though. If I press 'play', and then turn off my wifi immediately after, i get intro videos in a window followed by an error that it couldn't connect to the server, with an "Ok" button, which quits the window when pressed. If I just leave my wifi on, though, it just shows the window immediately full screen and then crashes after a few seconds.

For my part, I did not still download the premium beta which is available on my account. Because, when I see all the problems and all the manipulations which is necessary to make, frankly I do not want. I wonder if all these problems are normal, just to download a game and run it

You surely mean 'just to download beta software' and run it, right?

This is the purpose of the alpha and the beta process. Find the problems with the software and fix them. So go ahead, download the software and give it a go!! Good luck! You'll get it going, I am sure!

maybe theres a way to skip the intro video - and maybe that skips the problem.

The intro video works at times, it's when the game itself launches that things go bad. I actually just got it to work one time but once I was in-game the screen was super zoomed in on the upper left-hand side of the screen and was very pixellated as if it was just zoomed on that area of the screen. Very weird.

could be a resolution thing then.. your card is not overheating and working fine in other 3d games though?

I dont know if I remember correctly but at first startup it has a 720 p resolution in a window - if that helps

Sounds like that may be a display resolution error have you tried renaming your options file in user appdata roaming frontier options i think.
Just rename the file the first time i used it it started windowed and i had to change it to full screen. So sounds a little strange.
Ps you havent got a 6 k screen or something.

Did you make sure to delete the monitor from your graphics settings?

I'm wondering if the system still has a virtual monitor there - I think this was the issue others had...

Toad.
