I assume it has not escaped peoples attention that the three systems with confirmed barnacles in them are in an (almost) dead straight line... sure, only 3 points, but even so....

You couldn't select it, but it was on the radar?

Yep, maybe it was too far away but I boosted a few times... nothing beats my vulture so easy :p

You have to download the pic with 3.2mb so you can zoom in more. Wasnt sure thats why I am posted it here

Also, have people notices that the sound you get from wrecked nav beacons on planets is not entirely dissimilar from some of the sounds from the barnacles....

Field report:

Medical convoy spotted in Pleiades Sector VO-Z b1, 23.9Ls from planet 4

2 vultures and 1 Python

Comms:
[Medical Transport] Transport reporting in: cargo secure... I guess...
[Medical Transport] Transport reporting in: cargo secure... I guess...

Cargo scanned all ships, Vultures no cargo, Python carried:

6 Performance Enhancers
8 Progentior Cells
1 Scientific Research
6 Occupied Escape Pods

After a while they charged frameshift drives, but then did not jump. I didn't have a wake scanner anyway, but followed for some time before I got bored. They never charged the frameshift drive a second time. I eventually just let them fly out of scanner range.

Spotted the same thing in Pl.Sec.KC-V c2 16 yesterday, google couldn't help (which for me is the first sign for something new) asked about it a few pages back and was told it's an ordinary thing. The Python carried the same cargo. Although mine didn't communicate.

I never would photoshop a pic just to post it in here... I would rather play ED and listen to some good music ^^. I only wanted you guys here to take a look. Maybe we get a better proof for that in the future. I will keep my eyes and overwolf open !

Could this be a version of the 'locked on to a commander in station bug'? I just recently heard about it a few pages back but it sounds familiar (also, dang you for coming up wih something like this just before i decided to call it for the day.. ah well a quick 20min trip to maia won't hurt :))

i didnt want to say that it is fake, im still excited about those things...you just cant be sure anymore after all those faked pictures, and someday there will be someone who knows what he is doing, who fakes a picture without obvious mistakes.

i think for a good proof you should fly with a "dashcam" from now on...i dont think that someone is insane enough to fake a whole video for some attention...oh wait we had that allready...

ok then we just have to...trust eachother?^^
its not the first report i think, so maybe the "reversed triangle" is something that indicates "alien ships" in the future.

You can't blame people for being skeptical or hesitant though, there's been enough hoaxes over the last 10 months including recently. The zoomed in image does look like an Asp, hopefully your wolf can catch it ;)

I think I even dont believe myself but it was definitely something in front of me and on my radar :D

No problem guys. I would be thinking the same thing ;)

Donwload the Link with the pic with 3.20mb... it should a little bit better I think. But how you guys said, a video would be better to show. The Ship also just disappeared without a visual jumpsign so maybe it was only a strange glitch...

It's been a long time since I've paid that much attention to my scanner but maybe you can do some research. There seems to be (or at least seemed) a general consensus that the pointing up or down of a triangle is just to indicate whether the ship is above or below you. https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=139307&highlight=triangle+scanner+pointing+down

It could be that the 'ship' is below the radar. I only watched the image on my mobile. I assumed it was dead center. Still strange with the missing target box. It's quite close and the radar blip is strong.

Yeah, I was aware it was a known occurrence, I was just reporting it in case the location is unusual (it's somewhat far from the nebula) or someone out there has some spreadsheet they are using to keep logs of this stuff. It might also be useful to help to differentiate the medical convoys from the UA convoys. Some people suspect the medical convoys are part of some mystery, however, I suspect they could just be as benign as the wedding convoys.

A turbo ASP would sound like a weed wacker in the cockpit ^^^

Maybe rather than catch a hummingbird, some floating nectar is in order...

Perhaps also with low enough heat they can not see us either.

Also on the topic of ships moving strangely outside stations, I'd be very cautious about assuming it's a new mystery. Long before the story about the DBX at Obsidian Orbital, I have occasionally seen ships flitting back and forth between distant points outside stations. Sometimes passing through the station wall. Sometimes popping into the hangar bay too. Once while I was docking, just outside the mailslot a ship that was "blinking" from one spot to another, collided with me mid-blink and took my shields down to about half (so they're not just visual artifacts). But I assume they are bugs or the network instancing code struggling when I'm sharing an instance with someone with a slow connection.

The radio chatter indicates that there may be more to it, agreed. To be honest i was tabbed out to check on the 'research' commodity and may have missed it, i also don't know if they actually jumped or if i just lost sight. But yeah, may be worth checking their wake IF indeed they do jump. If i recall correctly the chatter was also a sign on the first UA convoys, maybe there is a way to hear them talk about something important.. or something important might happen to them at a point of their talks. Might need more recon/testing, but with all the shadows to jump at at the moment...
