Powerplay PP + the galaxy map + minor factions

the existing system works well enough, except it's only for the major Galactic powers.
i would suggest that it be adapted to also show overlays for a selected/entered (via typing) minor faction.
so when we're in a system and we see in the system status that the "Blue Group" in in expansion. we can go to the Power Play overlay of the galaxy map and set it to show expanding systems of the "Blue Group" and we can either work for/against said minor factions expansion.
likewise where they are at and how big they are with the "control" and "Overlay" filters as well.
complete with high/low profit and loss-making colour key.
and fortified/undermined icons.

for those of us trying to build our own faction...

No, the existing system doesn't work, because the galaxy map never updates. You could go into a system thinking that it's an Empire Feudal system only to find that it is an Independent Anarchy.

As long as the galaxy map is a hodge podge of out dated and completely unreliable information, you should not rely on the galaxy map for anything other than location data.

I have not encountered an inaccuracy with the Galaxy Map to date for any of that. Can you give and show a specific example? Did you report it as a bug?

I like the suggestion, +1. Is there a dedicated sub-forum for Minor Factions yet, like this power play one?

I'm not playing Power Play yet but am contemplating it for something different from my random bounty hunting, and some benefits.

With the changes coming to Missions hopefully increased transparency of BGS, and minor faction shenanigans this OP suggestion would be cool and probably needed by those working the minor faction end of things and Player controlled minor factions.

But I would also like the map tweaked a bit over PowerPlay and also for PowerPlay views.

***Allow the display to highlight only the selected Power's territory. Then add additional color bubbles or lines from controlled systems to systems being actively expanded and another color for those available to expand into but not being worked. Make it easier for a player to see what others are already doing by showing the numbers or status already available in detail text views but make it graphical.

Possibly the selected Power in the normal view can have a harder/thicker outside border that draws depending specifically on the view, so the outside edge would change as player rotates the view and different bubbles move to the "outside edge" of visibility.

Anything to make narrowing in on the selected power and seeing where they are and what they are up to easier.

I was considering pledging to the Shadow Presidente today. Viewing the map can be very confusing to get the right view of what systems are in their bubble/influence and which are not.

While I think the map view is cool overall, there needs to be some tweaking.

Look at any system in the galmap. ANY system, it'll say it's government. Then open the system map. The government will actually be different.

I thought this was common knowledge.
