What you do is you take the undead abomination by the hand and you lead it clumping and falteringly over to the dinner table where you offer it a nice cup of tea and cakes. You tell it what's been happening in the forums and politely ask its opinion, telling it to ignore the pitch-forked mob baying outside.
The resurrected corpse is now composed of a different set of people who may not have been around the first time the monster walked the Earth. There've been new people sewn into it. And the topic itself may have new aspects due to things changing unexpectedly... or unexpectedly not changing.

The forum would get very quiet if we just directed people to old threads. It has been going for many years and many of the topics have been discussed and discussed ad nauseam.
This thread itself wouldn't exist as it is a subject that has been chewed over many times.
True that. But know the difference between regular talk, (no problem with it) and flame war sparking stupidity, and closed debates, uncomfortable problems. Not to mention its your decision to enter into a thread or not? This is not Like FB or Blogs where you get everything to your face, with little or no regulations.
We were thinking of black on black![]()
True there is no point to continue the same debate under a dozes of threads.
There was talk a while back about the problem of threads that'd been brought back to life after laying dormant for many months. The problem with those sorts of threads are that sometimes the information contained in the thread would now be out of date, but a lot of the ideas that had already been discussed within them wouldn't really need spelling out again if the new members to the forum knew of their existence. The suggestion had been to mark old posts by using a different colour. Has that idea been implemented?
LOL! let's settle with light grey on white, and dark grey on black. We were thinking of black on black![]()

I do believe the developer of this forum is a Douglas Adams fan...
"Every time you try and operate these weird black controls that are labeled in black on a black background, a little black light lights up in black to let you know you’ve done it."
I guess the dead undead threads.Good Morning from Dublin Citadel.
Waylon Jennings! Hillbilly Goth!
What is the most undead Thread, Ted?
