It all seems true 
Any upgrade in store will currently be for the Alpha/Beta+ ,and you will only get the contents of the store bundle (on top of those from backer app purchased before store opened) ,You will not get the rewards formally on the backers app/KS at that level (a bonus to those who backed early) ,so no new start points /ships .
This is as I read it, so may be wrong of course ,as descriptions in store seem to be very malleable currently.

That's how I read it too. You can upgrade your old pledge level to give you beta access if you didn't have it before, but you don't get the old pledge extras that would have gone with it in the past - just the game access.

It just means that the KS rewards that were available during KS or backers app that do not appear in the store are no longer available. And those that are in the store are individual products that do not include the rewards that the buyer would have got during KS.
For example if you backed at second beta level during KS you'd have got the pirate starting option (among lots of other stuff). A new backer that purchases the beta has nothing but the beta access (and the game).
Likewise, if you now upgrade from that beta into alpha, you pay the difference between beta and alpha, and keep all the pledge rewards that you had on the KS, but do not get the extra rewards that the original alpha backers got (e.g. Being a founding member of 'the Elite'). You only get alpha access and the right to future expansions (because it is included in the current alpha package in the store).

It's how much I am interested in really, I originally paid £30 ages ago for what I remember was a digital copy plus extras.. (possibly over a year ago) does this make me an original backer?
If I now want to access either the Premium or Standard betas do I pay the full amount shown ie £100 for Premium or £50 for standard or do I get credit for the £30 I have already paid and pay £70 or £20 respectively...?

I do not speak of the rewards. I speak of the difference of payment for an upgrade. For example, you have committed in the kickstarter 50 pounds sterling for the béta standart. If you buy in the new store, the premium beta, you just pay the difference? (100 - 50 = 50) or you pay 100 ? What I read in the FAQ is that the difference is not taken into account with previous commitments. So according to the FAQ, we must pay 100. No ? ------"All items on the Elite: Dangerous Online Store are stand-alone products and need to be purchased entirely separately from any previous pledges to Elite: Dangerous you may have made."
True but it was different then for the alpha, and now with premium beta.
You can check it if you have the standard beta, do just like you wanted to buy the premium beta, you'll see at some point that you have this reduction, before you even confirm the payment so you are not commited yet, just like we had with alpha. it correspounds to [beta premium price]-[sum of prices of what product you already have, if it's in the store]
it may not include products like tshirts(...) though but stantard beta, expension pass etc...
founder level(150£) would include premium beta(100£) so we had 200-100=100£ to get the alpha not 200-150 however.
here (in €) premium beta is 120, you may have standard beta + expansion pack so its 120-(60+40)=20€
even if you paid a bit more than 100 € in the web app.
I dont remember all the previous pledge level though.
perhaps you just have the standard beta so 120-60=60€.

Indeed it corresponds to [beta premium price]-[price of the equivalent product you already have, if it's in the store].
For example, if you had bought the beta access originally and also paid for shipping internationally and a couple of extra mugs, the value of those extra items naturally will not be deducted in the upgrade process.
you only pay the difference. you get that 30 pounds credited towards your upgraded purchase level.
however as the kick starter period has finished, the rewards that would have gone along with the 'higher' initial pledge reward/tier are no longer available.
you still get whatever rewards the initial 30 pound backing level entitled you to if you choose to 'upgrade'
I have already the premium beta since the kickstarter. I understood all that well before this thread. But I doubted a little because of my interpretation (French to English) of the FAQ in the new store. In all case, thank you to all for your answers.
I decided to run through the payment process to upgrade to the Standard Beta.
I logged onto my account on the store with my £30 shown as already pledged eons ago. I put into the basket the Standard Beta at £50 (as by all accounts this should reduce by what I have already paid making the amount due £20)
All the way through the process until I was taken to PayPal and the amount that was shown to be requested at PayPal was £50 not £20.
I cancelled and came out as at this point I don't have the funds available to cover £50
I'm a touch dismayed at this as it seems to want to charge me the full £50, when looking through this thread it was thrashed out that it would be £30 I had already paid plus £20 balance.

Hmm. Well, that's true or not, don't know, but they should be able to go from £100 to Alpha with a discount and that's broken also.
