Hey guys not only am I new to ED I'm also new to PC Gaming as a whole so excue my ignorance on the subject.. I Just decided to get a gaming PC instead of a console because we're Halfway through their lifespan, and i haven't seen anything that's really impressed me. Then I found this game and completely fell in love, but I digress. Can someone help me figure out what i'll need to play this game on Ultra 100% Maxed out including planet side. (Side note: I'm also probably going to run a cheap VR rig through my Gear VR as well I don't think i'll need to make any additions to add solely for that though.) I can always upgrade it later I just want to play. Just a reminder this is supposed to be as cheap as possible. I have a TV ill probably use as a monitor. Any help is welcomed, and greatly appreciated!!
Okay a lot of people are suggestion PCs in the somewhat mid range which I can understand but I'm gonna be far more direct and answer your exact question. If you really want to low ball it and get an alright starter pc that will run Elite then what you could do is go the AMD route.
This is my old build that runs ED just fine at 1080p
AMD A10-5800K 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor
MSI A78M-E35 Micro ATX FM2+ Motherboard
Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory (okay I've been meaning to throw the second stick of ram in but never got around to it. still worked fine just slightly slower)
Gigabyte Radeon R7 370 4GB Video Card (This card was cheaper at the time when I bought it and there are other versions of the same GPU that might be cheaper. just rememer Radeon 370 when shopping and you'll be fine)
Corsair CX600M power supply
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive (Hard drives are more what you want or need for storage. I'd go bigger if you can afford it or use an SSD along with a 2 or 3 TB if you can fit it in your budget but again that's more what what you want to do. just have a hard drive.)
That's my old build. I am upgrading some of those parts at the moment but that'll get you off the ground. When I bought all those parts it cost me a little under $600 USD but some of those parts have gone up in price since then. If you really want to push it a bit and save up for a better GPU the on board graphic on that processor had the base game of Elite running for me on low settings at 720p at 60 fps. Didn't look as impressive as the full build (kinda looked like a old ps2 game) but I could still play. I'd still add the GPU though. You'll need it for other games as well. Hope that helps.
