Is the outfitting discount still there? I would assume so since it was only the ship discount that was unexpected, right?
I think it does... I'll confirm in a bit, I'm moving ships out and still have to go back for 2 more.

Nope, I am at work so no opportunity for me this time. Very sad, I wanted to exchange my Cutter to drop the insurance cost.
But no problem, I am happy with my cutter anyway
Oh yes, that would be really nice. But Frontier was always fast to fix away players fortunes, unintended or not. Sometimes they were that fast that they had to reroll their fixes shortly after, because they did not consider the effects carefully enough.
Nasty bugs on the other hand...well...yeah...oh, maybe with the next big patch. Maybe.
So I was already expecting that this one would also be fixed before I had a chance to head home and make a fortune
Outfitting is still at 30% discount. But the outfitting options are not awesome, quite poor for some of the ships like Python and Clipper.
The global reward was listed as discount in Outfitting - not shipyard, the ship discounts were an error, now fixed unfortunately.

But the reward was supposed to be discounted _outfitting_ only. What happened was the shipyard got a discount too and that has now been removed. So the goal we worked for is (I believe) still there, just he extra one that wasn't supposed to be there has been removed. My guess is someone got confused as the global reward for the mining CG is shipyard discounts, but that one is still going so nothing has been implemented yet.

They should. I couldnt rebuy my cheap cutter due to job, and i consider im being pennalized (for not playing) if those who bought a reduced price cutter can maintain it...

+rep - thanks. Guess there has probably been a rush on the bigger modules as well (though it wasn't great before) - all these people re-fitting their cutters must have taken a toll on the stock levels! Hopefully it'll recover a bit by the end of the mining CG - certainly no need to rush back at the moment I think.

I doubt they will - if someone mis-prices something in a shop then they shop I think has to sell you it at the reduced price until they notice and change the marking or till systems - they can't then retrospectively charge you the extra because of their mistake. Just good fortune for those who got in before they noticed ...
But if they fixed it so quickly it was clearly an exploit.
And if it is an exploit no one should benefit from it. As in other MMOS happen, all benefits from this exploit should be removed.
I say more, in other mmos (like wow) they ban players who benefit from these kind of things.
Im not asking bans, i only want to know what kind of game im playing.

The promised/achieved community goal for 30% discount on outfitting has been delivered and is available to all, for unlimited time.
Due to a typo of some manner, there was briefly a period where 30% was off ships, against all expectations.
People rushed to take advantage of the discount 'before it goes', seemingly knowing that it was taking advantage of an error.
Error was fixed.
People who weren't able to exploit the error feel robbed and are raising bug reports *for not having chance to exploit a bug*.
Is that about it?

Sounds about right, except you missed out the bit about everyone that took advantage should have their ships taken away and no money refunded and sent back to a sidewinder with 100cr because I had to work and therefore couldn't exploit it and therefore it is unfair and therefore everyone should be punished
Oh well, guess I will have to do an extra Robigo run to make up the 30%

If there is some kind of advantage, then id like to know it. And well, i know that now.
I dont mind how other players play the game, but the rules should be the same for all, not only for "clever?" gamers.
