Abandoned New Trading Tool: ETN

I have the same issue with Firefox. Regardless of what I do it resets the route and the ship to that point I had before Horizons launched when it just stopped working.

I can get it to work in IE and bizarrely if I open a "private browsing window" in Firefox it works then too, just not if I call it up in a normal tab. I've tried looking for a cookie to delete but nothing shows up so I'm puzzled as to whats causing it,

Bizarre! Works for me too in private window. Thanks for this temporary "solution".

Happy to confirm that Chrome (PC) Incognito window also works.

OK - just tried this in Firefox and I restored functionality. :D

I opened up the History sidelbar in Firefox and searched for etn.io. After finding it, I right-clicked on the site in the History sidebar and selected the "Forget about this site" option which then nuked all traces of history of etn.io from my browser. Close the history sidebar and re-open etn.io in a fresh new tab (note a normal tab NOT a private browsing window) and it now works perfectly again as before. You need to re-edit/import your ship details again though.

Don't know if it if has an equivalent function/will work with Chrome (Sorry!) but seems to indicate the problem is lying with a corrupt history file in the browser somewhere.:(

Confirmed I now have this working again in Chrome on PC after removing the previous etn.io cookie.

Hi Joe, any idea how hard it would be to add a context menu copy for the next system name? Having to type in the system map is the only thing that makes this tool slightly less than perfect IMHO. Thank you very much - It's got me my first millions in record time :D

Brilliant tool, I've used it since you first posted about it and have made Elite in trading :)
Only 1 thing I would like if its easy enough, could you show which Faction each place is? helps when deciding where to go to redeem bounties!

Thanks for your efforts.

Pressing ctrl-c in the site will copy the next system name (no selection required). Does that work for you?

Congrats on Elite :) I'll look into adding the faction. Where would you want it? On the map itself? I want to avoid information overload but I could add a toggle that adds the info.

Thanks, on the map would be good for me but whatever is easiest for you to do!

Hey, Joe. First off, thanks for the ridiculously awesome tool. I've managed to outperform the predicted CR/hr on every class of trading ship I've had, up through my current Clipper, using it. That said, I was wondering if you had an ETA on when Planetary settlements might be added back (with the toggle of course)?

I think it's not just settlements though is it? It's also commodities that appear only in Horizons. ETN and other sites/apps that provide trading and other information need a Horizons On/Off switch. :)

They are back! Enable them in the route menu. They are off by default. Note that I still haven't updated the trade time for these stations, so the cr/hour for these runs will likely be inflated.

Planetary stations are displayed as triangles.

Are you saying that there are commodities sold in orbital stations that only appear to people running Horizons?

Yes - both buying and selling.
To give one concrete example, Marcy Enterprise in HIP 20524 buys and sells Skimmer Components. But they don't appear in the in-game market if you're playing 1.5.

(However they do appear in the API data if you've purchased Horizons but are playing 1.5. Don't know about if you haven't purchased Horizons).

Yes. I have Horizons and have screen dumped stations playing with Horizons and with 1.5 to convince myself that this is true.

As somebody else has said, the EDMC API does receive the commodity details, even when running 1,5, but I don't know whether that's because I do own Horizons even though I'm playing Ships.

Is it possible to add a clickable box or something for me? ... would really like to see the following

Current station: blah blah
Destination: (optional)
Trade along the way to destination?

I'm not sure I understand what you want. Destination optional but trade along the destination? How would you do that if ETN doesn't know where you're going?

Say for instance i am in Sol but i want to go to Robigo ...the current setup would have me doing multiple routes that would eventually end up in Robigo...what i propose is a option to say this system is along the route using Economic or Direct route finding so if you have cargo room you might want to stop and take a smoke and coffee break and pick up those [insert commodity] the miners (we all know they are smugglers) at robigo really want.
