So... updated to 2.0.6 and Reshade stops working. What now?

Prior to our most recent update today, I had installed Reshade framework 1.1.0 on my Horizons installation and overwritten the settings with those from this thread: ED & SweetFX .

So after updating today, I thought I'd just repeat the process and everything would be as before, my graphical quality would essentially be the same as before.

Problem is: I started the game, and Reshade didn't kick in as usual. It is installed. All the files are in place. But nothing happens. Does anybody have the same problems and maybe some possible solutions at hand? I'm continuing to experiment, but at the moment I'm at a loss.

Anybody help?

Have you put back your reshade files after the update since the patch clears any third party files?

What I did was take the Reshade framework 1.1.0 from their homepage and extract those files into my Elite: Dangerous Horizons 64 folder.

Then I activated the Reshade setup .exe and chose the Horizons .exe as the game I would like to install Reshade to. After that I copied and pasted the Reshade config files from the Reshade link I posted above and told Windows to overwrite everything. After that, starting the game did not seem to start Reshade along with it, even though it remained installed. I'm an amateur modder, I don't know what I did wrong.

Check for a file called dxgi.dll in the elite-dangerous-64 folder.

If a file 'dxgi.log' has been created have a look in there for errors (if it's not starting then the log probably won't exist but it's worth checking).

Thanks, will try!

Edit:

What I found out so far: When I start Elite: Dangerous by double clicking on the .exe in the "Products" folder instead of using the launcher, I get this message while the game is trying to load:

Of course, shortly after that I get a "Login Failure" message and a friendly reminder to use the launcher to start the game in order to use its latest version.

When using the launcher, however, Reshade doesn't even attempt to start and fail. The game simply loads as if Reshade didn't even exist.

Well I was about to start a thread. I'm fairly new to the game. I was using SweetFX and was very happy with it, but now after the update it doesn't work. I re applied all the files to their proper locations but it still doesn't work and I am at a complete loss. What do I do?

Actually after messing with it some more I have the exact same problem as the OP. Using the launcher, it doesn't start at all, and when I use the .exe it tells me I have to use the launcher.......
